Alus

Within this page, I shall endeavour to write down any and all definitions of the word or name alus that I may find in my research. So far, though, it has been a very unsuccessful search.

1 Balinese for "refined". It should be noted that alus and its countepart kasar (crude) apply not only to people, but to situations and emotions as well. For example, wishing to serve society is 'alus' while making a profit is 'kasar'.
