Midi of the week: Alanis Morisette's Thank you
(NB! When I played this with Media Player, it sounded much better than when played with the QuickTime plug-in.)

Indonesian gamelan music is very nice.

Kroncong is a typical "modern" Indonesian music, very beautiful.
  • From Album Tempo Doeloe I found Bahtera Laja (185 kB!). Listen and enjoy!
Finnish music: Speaking of Sibelius, here some interesting sites with classical music:
  • Classical MIDI Archives (There is a lot of classical music in MIDI format here. You should ask permission, if you want to use some midis on your Web pages. My classical midis can probably be found here, but I have _not_ copied them from here.)
  • The Classical Music Pages
Do you need a national anthem? Try these: Country and western has always been a favourite of mine:
  • Tammy Wynette was called 'the first lady of country'. Please listen to The Ceremony, one of her beautiful melodies.
If you prefer pop, Anggun is an Indonesian pop singer, whose song Snow on the Sahara is very often heard on the radio in Finland (and probably elsewhere, too), in her home country the best known of her songs is probably Kembali: Hanson is a pop group that gets my girls going: Some misc. music links: Have a look at CDnow link CDnow, you will find beautiful music there, too.
