(6-96) The most important question about Buddhism, I guess, is "What good does it do?" I often get an abstract and ambiguous answers like: inner happiness, feeling light and comfortable, peace... Except one time I read somewhere about an esoteric sect of Buddhism that surprised me as somewhat concrete and interesting.
The esoteric sect is mostly practiced in Tibet. They believe the Truth can only be passed down from master to student through action, through the actual practice of chanting, meditation, rituals, and so forth. One branch of the esoteric sect actually practiced sex as a mean of achieving the state of Buddha (divine state). The divine state, as they described it, is like a little death, you would see bright warm light, and feel weightless. Imagine that. Only if these monks would publicize their practices, Buddhism would be a lot more popular today.
