Doctor Jones debuted at no.1 and stayed there fore a fortnight, before falling 1 to My Heart Will Go On and then another to Brimful Of Asha. Then it fell 3, then 4, then 5, then 6 (and so on) weird eh??? Wow ! Whatta show !!! Aqua was nominated for 2 awards : Best Pop Award
Although they didn't win anything, they gave a GREAT performance there, bursting onstage with a medley of Aqua hits, including Turn Back Time, Barbie Girl, Lollipop (Candyman) and Doctor Jones. Lene, dressed
ala West Indian (?), started off with a powerful, melodious Turn Back Time.
Our beloved Ken (Rene),
looking like a cool Dick Tracy, brought the crowd to chanting the trademark
"Come On Barbie, Let's Go Party!". Soren,
in a glittering blue suit and Claus,
who at a glance looked like a SuperClaus, played their instruments at the
back - driving the crowd in front wild !

| Channel [V] Music Awards '98
Channel [V] hosted their Music Award in New Delhi, India, on the 21st Nov 98. The show was aired on Channel [V] on 4th Dec, 7 pm MYT. 3 cheers for AQUA !!! YES ! Aqua won 3 awards here :
The props? As colourful as the Aqua universe : huge colourful palm tree and octopus floats. Their attire? Lene in a miniaturised green saree, Rene in cool black jacket, Claus looking sleek and hip, and Soren in something tight (now would you look at those.. err.. muscles ?!). Aqua was in India for a week, and left the day after the Awards. |
