I saw Aqua today at the taping of the House Of Hits show, they sang "Cartoon Heroes" and it will be aired on Saturday night! I am also seeing them again on Sunday when they perform live!!! <Mark>

We thought you might want to tell your Australian Aqua fans that Aqua are
appearing on THURSDAY 11 MAY at 4.30PM SYDNEY TIME at the following location:

Good news to everyone in Asia! MTV Asia has named Aqua artist of the Month for April! So expect to see lots of Aqua stuff on air this month. I mean, I tuned in immediately after I found out and they're showing Aqua videos one after the other!

Aqua are putting the finishing touches to the follow-up to their multi-platinum debut 'Aquarium', which they have been recording since January in Sweden and Somerset in the UK. Niclas Anker, boss of Aqua's record label described 'Aquarius' as a collection of "damn good songs that
show Aqua are here to stay".

Hey guys!

I just wanted to share with you my incredible find today!!!!  While searching online, i found all the mp3 files to the new aqua CD and i downloaded them all!  let me tell you now.... WOW, OH MY GOD, INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!  I just finished listening to the whole thing and i am %100 impressed with this album, it is just great!!!!!!!!

Okay here is my run through all the songs:

Cartoon Heroes - most of you already heard this song so i won't describe it too much.  A lot of fun and a lot of cheese as well.  A great first single to the album with a great video!

Around The World - This was the second new song i heard from the album and when i first heard Lene's voice on it, i was very surprised!  Her voice is a little lower and she doesn't have that high pitch squeak that she did for the first album.  It sounds a lot better, i think.  The song has basically the same beat as Cartoon Heroes.  Lots of a fun noises, like airplanes and computer beeps that make the song fun... i can see this being another single.

Freaky Friday - what a funny song! i love this one, it starts off with Rene doing a cowboy impersonation.  The whole song definately has an old western comboy movie feel to it.  The best line of the song is "my life is a country song"  and the whole song is basically playing fun on the fact that all country songs all have the same depressing theme.  Lene is just talking about how one thing after another is going wrong in her life because Rene left her and took everything.  The beat is really good in this song, i like it a lot.

We Belong To The Sea - what an incredible ballad! i can see this song as a single as well.  It has a lot of oceans sounds in it (like waves and submarine sounds).  It is a gentle romantic ballad that Rene and Lene sing to each other, basically making really great metaphors to them being parts of 
the sea.  "Can you wash me away."  "Come on into my waves. You can sleep in my caves."  "let me know that you can hold me til the tide takes my soul."  Lene's voice is really incredible on this song (as in every song, she has really stepped up over the last 3 years or so and sounds incredible!).

An Apple A Day - this song is filled with cliche lines.  The first line is "welcome to the cliches" and it pokes fun at all the stupid cliches that people say.  Any cliche line that you can think of is in this song.   Lene hamonizes very well with herself in this song and it sounds really nice.  "an apple a day, keeps the doctor away."  "you are what you eat" the last line "do what you want, and be happy" i think summarizes what they want the song to be about.  Don't listen to all the stupid cliches and be yourself.

Halloween - EASILY THE BEST SONG ON THIS CD!!!!!! I love this song and i keep listening to it a lot!   If they release it around Halloween in 2000 i think the song will be really big everywhere!  It starts off with Lene answering the phone and being all scared because she is home alone and Rene is scaring her.  Rene does and EXCELLENT job of sound like a scary stalker/monster.  This song is going to make one of the best videos ever!!!  The whole song is 
about being scared on Halloween.  It has that Transylvania feel to the song with the old pipe organ sound and lots of ghost noises, it is really cool!  Rene is just great in this song, he sounds really freaky and scary!  i can't say anymore than this song is INCREDIBLE! They also make a reference to the old song Candyman when they say "the candman from bounty land is coming to 
get me"  just something fun to add in there.

Good Guys - a slower paced song but it still has a very nice beat.  Both Lene and Rene sing very quietly and softly, which sounds really cool.  I have to listen to this song some more to get what it is truly about, but it is basically talking about how the good guys always end up ahead in the end. 

Back Far Mars - This song sounds kind of like an old 60's song from a Disney movie.  Don't ask me where i came up with that, it is just what the song reminds me of.  I have no clue what the song it about because it doesn't make much sense to me.  It is definately not about outer space and not about coming back from mars.  I think they want coming back from mars to be a reference to something that i haven't figured out yet (hey! i have only listened to the album twice so far, what do you expect!!)

Aquarius - Another incredible ballad.  It is basically Lene and a piano for the enitre song, with some string instruments.  It sounds totally acoustic with literally no programming or synthesized music.  There is a short piano intro in the song with a lot of string instruments.  This is the kind of song in a musical about a poor girl who is mopping a floor because she is an orphan child looking for a better life.  I picture a girl in rags walking through street lights slowly and looking up at the stars.  It is a very moving song.  Lene sounds incredible, i don't think i have heard her sing a 
song better than this one!

Cuba Libre - This is the latin/spanish song on the album, with a definate salsa feel.  When i first heard the title of this song, i thought it was going to be a social comment song about the injustices in Cuba and how we should do what we can to help free the country.  Cuba Libre is spanish for "A 
Free Cuba."  However the song totally avoids that issue and just talks about two people who seems to in love and want to be together.

Bumble Bee - This is very "risque" song.  There are a lot of sexual innuendos and remarks made in this song, it is very funny.  "Am i the only flower you see?" "Bumble Bee bump into me, i am in for pollination.  Take what you see.  I can't wait for your invasion."  It is one of those songs you listen to and look around the room at other people's reactions because the innuendos are very obvious and funny.

Goodbye To The Circus -  This is the perfect ending song to the album, it basically just says goodbye and we will be back again.  They basically are saying that everything they do/are/represent is like a circus, in the sense that everything is crazy.  it is like a mobile circus that pakcs up and leaves after awhile, but you know that the fun will roll back into town again.

General observations :

Rene sings a lot more in the album, rather than his normal rapping style.  I didn't know he could actually sing, he has a very nice voice.

The thing i really like about this album is that Aqua doesn't repeat the first album.  All these songs are original and different than the first album.  They aren't trying to market a new album that is just an update of the old one.  This is genuinely different.

Lene's voice is just outstanding on this album, i don't know if they did something to her voice on the first album to make is sound so squeaky like that.  Don't get me wrong, i love that about her voice, it made the first album really cool!  However in this album she tones it down a lot more and sounds like she actually knows how to sing and be an artist, i hope the critics pick up on that. 

The only thing that i am disapointed with in this album is the fact that the beat in every song (ones that have a dance beat in them) is exactly the same.  If you listen to the beat in Cartoon Heroes, that is about what it is like in every upbeat song.  The first album varied the bass line and the beat, this album seems to use the same beat in all the faster songs.  They could have done a little more variety to make you move differently while you dance to the album.  Don't get me wrong, the beat fits very well with every song on the album and the songs sound good, but a little more variety would have been better.

I have a feeling this album with be met with the same acceptance and appraisal that the first album got and hopefully it will be as successful.  I can see almost all of the songs on this album as being singles that would do well on the radio, so i don't think Cartoon heroes is gonna be the only song 
that makes it big.
