The Dragon Ball Manga

The Unofficial English LanguageVersion

Notes: The artwork has been reversed for translation into English.

I'm posting the manga in periodical installments, one chapter each, except for the first chapter, which will take two installments.

Translation Notes: Of great help to me in making this translation was Kodansha's Japanese-English dictionary. Some things you should know:

-san is a Japanese honorific suffix equivalent to Mr./Ms./Mrs.

-kun is a suffix denoting familiarity.

-chan is a diminutive suffix. It denotes familiarity and affection. It is very often suffixed to the names of small children.

Legal Notes: Dragon Ball is copyrighted by Bird Studio. This is an unofficial translation, which is not in any way endorsed by Bird Studio, Jump Comics, or FUNmation. There is currently no official American translation of Dragon Ball. If one is ever produced, production of this unofficial translation will terminate. I very strongly encourage you to buy a copy of the Japanese comic represented here, not only to be able to see the artwork at a much higher resolution and in more shades of gray, but also to support the industry. I buy my copies of Dragon Ball from Imagi-mation.
