Grand Tour
Dragon Ball GT

Dragon Ball ended in 1995, and the TV series Dragon Ball Z finished its run in the January of the following year. However, DB seemed to be too much of a good thing to end. Thus, Dragon Ball GT (Grand Tour or Galaxy Touring) was launched after DBZ. There are 64 episodes to DBGT, which wrapped up on November 19, 1997.

SSJ4 Goku
Super Saiyajin 4 Son Goku.
Much of the work was done by the animators and producers at Toei Studios, but a number of the characters were designed (updated) by Toriyama Akira, and he served as a consultant in the process of developing the series. Nevertheless, the DBGT series contained totally new, original episodes. However, Toriyama-san stated that he will not come out with the manga version of DB GT.

To tell you the truth, I haven't seen DBGT. I mean, I do have all these GT posters and cards and what not, but I haven't actually seen any episodes. (Anyone want to sell me some videos?) I tend to be an old guard for DB & DBZ, partly because of this fact. Well, anyway, this is as much as I know.

The story is apparently 10 years into the future (from the epilogue of DBZ). The main characters are Son Goku, Trunks, and Pan. However, although Goku is Pan's grandfather, he looks like a kid-- he is 11 years old. Huh? How could that be, you say.

Well, apparently Pilaf and company (Do you remember them?) reappears and are up to their usual connivance. This time old Pilaf, still wanting to rule the world, desires to become younger. However, they accidentally turn Goku into a child instead, using the "Ultimate Dragon Balls."

DBGT
Goku snags the runaway robot, Gil.
Although Goku is now a child, he is as powerful as he was before, however the only exception being that he loses his shunkan idou (teleportation) skill. Trying to return Son Goku back to normal and saving earth from certain destruction is the mission of the GT adventurers, a journey that propels them to the depths of space and into new surprises. (The long lost "Ultimate Dragon Balls" disperse all across the universe when a wish is granted)

DBGT
Uh, Houston, we have a problem. Trunks sees parts flying off of the spaceship they're in!
Goku and his friends encounter new enemies on other planets and Goku meets his match with a character named "Bebii," which was created by the Tsufurujin (=fruit) race to destroy the Saiyajin (=vegetable). (In the past, the Saiyajin had invaded the Tsufuru people's planet and usurped their technology) Goku even reaches the Super Saiyajin Level 4 power. Later, the GT Adventurers have to deal with seven, evil dragons.

I have learned from Curtis Hoffman's 3 Steps Over the Edge page that DB GT was supposed to end in April, with the release of a DB GT video game for Playstation in the Summer. However, because the game was delayed till early fall, DB GT was continued until September. For more info on the Dragon Ball Final Bout game, check out Dragon Ball Video Games under the Merchandise Page!

What? You already know this info? I'm wasting your time? Then I refer you to the DBGT section of Curtis Hoffman's 3 Steps Over the Edge !
