A note on those SM CDs

Of course, there are the infamous SM (Son May) CDs out there. SM has released many of the DB CD albums. They're pretty cheap, about $12~15 in anime stores and stores in China Town. (compare to the prices for original Japanese CDs, which are about 2800 ~ 3000 yen --approx. $28~30)

However, as you may know, they are bootleg CDs. Nevertheless, the sound quality is almost indistinguishable, since they are digital. All the SM CDs I have seen look pretty much the same as the real counterpart, up to the silk screen on the CD itself. But, you should be able to see "SM" printed on the CD insert and on the disk. How do they get away with it? Well, apparently, the copyright laws in Taiwan are much more lax than in places like the US.
