A Sailor Moon/Tuxedo Kamen Epic Story By Bunny bunny_154@yahoo.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 1 "By the prickling of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes." -Macbeth Act lV, sc 1 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *~*~Mamoru's Point of View*~*~ "It's coming you know." I said gently. "Iie," She whispered. "It's already here." "What do you mean 'it's already here'?" She took in a deep breath, then spoke softly. "This evil. This presence we feel. It's always been here, since the beginning of time. In the beginning, there were two forces; chaos and light. Around that, the universe was created. For millions of years, the universe existed in this sort of equilibrium, with the forces of chaos and light in balance. Now, that balance has shifted more towards chaos. Evil has been dispersed through the universe, destroying, creating havoc, and taking over; all in the name of chaos. "Ten thousand years ago, the equilibrium was almost restored when a kingdom took on chaos, and fought in the name of light. In that kingdom's pursuit, it was annihilated. However, in that event, chaos was severely weakened and has taken this long to become strong again. Now, earth is its chosen target." I absorbed everything she said. Slowly putting the pieces of the puzzle together. Somewhere, in the back of my mind, I knew of the kingdom she spoke of. Almost as if it were part of a fairy tale I was told when I was a little boy, but I knew it was more than that. I could feel it in my soul. I could almost...almost remember. Distant memories began to surface. "That kingdom you spoke of, the one that was destroyed, was it the Moon Kingdom?" She gasped at looked at me with wide eyes. "How...how did you know that?" she asked, unsure. I took a deep breath, looking at the city below us. Snow continued to fall. I turned to face her, looking her in the eyes. I chose my next few words carefully. "Honestly, I'm not entirely too sure. Every now and then I get these images, feelings, memories, almost. I am familiar with the story you told me from my dreams. Only, it wasn't a story, nor a dream." Her face softened. "Hai, you are right. It is not a story, nor were those dreams. They are memories, from a past life. You must have been someone important to remember all of that, but funny, I don't remember seeing you in my dreams." Whoa..."You mean you have those dreams too?" Sailor Moon nodded. "You know if the other scouts have them as well?" She shook her head. "They do, only not as vividly as I have them. Do you mind if I ask you something?" "Go ahead." I answered. "How vivid are your memories? Are they only bits and pieces, or like you are there?" I paused, thinking of how I should answer. Can I trust her? No, that isn't the question. I don't know if I want to trust her. I've never told anyone about my dreams, let alone a complete stranger. Though, she wasn't entirely a stranger. I knew her, somehow. I was pretty sure they were memories from a past life; but I didn't have proof. I suppose this is as good of proof as any. "They are very vivid, like I am there. I remember everything so clearly," I paused, "even my death." Sailor Moon sat there listening. "Tell me, about what you remember. I don't remember you. Who were you? Why do you have these vivid memories like me, and no one else? Do you know something about chaos that I do not?" She assaulted me with questions. I didn't know where to start. My head was spinning with this new information already, I wasn't sure how I could satisfy her with all those questions. "Well, I guess I'll just start at the beginning. I wasn't actually a part of the Moon Kingdom, but my family was directly related to it. My mother was a very close friend of Queen Serenity, the Queen of the Moon. There was a strong alliance between our two kingdoms. Whenever on of the kingdoms was in trouble, the other would be right there to back them up. I even remember when the Moon Kingdom fell. It was the first time I had been on the moon. I was to meet the princess. There was a large party welcoming us from earth. My mother had been to the moon several times, but that had been my first time. "That night at the ball, before I got a chance to meet the princess, Chaos came. Queen Serenity tried to stop it, but it was just too much. I don't know much more about what happened, because I got killed protecting this girl who was in danger. I had never seen her before, but I saw she was in danger, and a strong desire to protect her took over me. So I leapt in front of a sword that was meant for her. She was absolutely beautiful. I still remember her flawless face clearly. She was sobbing, and her cheeks were lined with tears. Her silver hair had fallen out of its style, and was hanging to the floor loosely around her, like pooling silver." My voice trailed off, and I stared off into space remembering her. Sailor Moon just sat there entranced by my story. "Can you describe anything more about her?" She asked softly, eyes sparkling. I looked at her, puzzled. "Why do you want me to describe a girl I never met?" She was up to something. I could see it in her eyes, but I wasn't sure what she was after. "Because, she obviously meant something to you, for you to remember her so clearly. You jumped in front of a sword for a complete stranger. Why? What more do you remember of her?" The more she pressed, the antsier I became. I had left out the most important detail of all, the fact that my "mystery girl" looked exactly like someone I knew. I let out a sigh, and chose my words carefully. "You are right. She was more than a stranger. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. The dress she wore had once been elegant, but it hung in tatters around her perfect body. It was soaked in blood. She had a sigil on her forehead, but it was faint, and getting dimmer." I stopped, preparing to tell her the biggest part. "She has been reborn. I have seen her. I'm not 100% sure it's her, but the appearance similarities between the two...uncanny. I have never approached her though. Hell, what am I supposed to say, 'Hey, I think I died for you in your past life, what do you say we go grab a cup of coffee?' I think not. She'd think I was insane. No, I am just happy she lives her life joyously. Always happy. I could never take that away from her. She is so innocent. But every time I see her, my heart aches. I know I was betrothed to the princess, but I had never met her. I know this life is different, but I can't help but feel obligated to her. Rightfully, I am hers, and I respect that. It's beyond my control." I turned to look at Sailor Moon. She had an unreadable expression on her face. "This girl, in the now. You know her name. What is it?" She asked point blank. I didn't know how to answer, I sat there gaping, searching, unable to tell her. I could not utter the angel's name. "It's okay, I understand. You don't have to say her name. But think of this, if you remember her so clearly, how do you know she doesn't? Maybe the same fears are running through her mind. If you think your 'dreams' are crazy, maybe she thinks hers are too, and is too afraid to approach you. Next time you see her, talk to her. Start up a conversation. Don't think about the princess, because maybe your 'mystery girl' is your princess. You'll never know until you talk to her." I sat there taking in everything she said, thinking about the next time I saw her, what I would say to her? A new fire of hope ignited within me. "Thank you. That means a lot to me. I've enjoyed our chat. Next time I look forward to hearing your side." She blushed. "We should probably be getting home. It's well past three, and I have classes tomorrow, as I'm sure you do too." I could see her face crinkle up in disgust. "Gee, thanks for reminding me." She shot me a dirty look. "Hey," I chuckled, "don't shoot the messenger! You'll thank me tomorrow when you at least had a couple hours of sleep. I don't think anything is going to happen tonight, so we might as well go home. I plan on coming out the next few nights to keep watch. I promise to let you know if I find anything. Go home, get some sleep. You deserve it." "How are you going to be able to find me if I'm not Sailor Moon? You won't have the link." She looked at me puzzled. I smiled down on her. "No, but you will. Don't worry about it. You'll know. Trust me." She nodded. She turned to look out over the city one last time, and glanced down. She was about to open her mouth to say something, but before she could, I wrapped my arms around her and leapt off the tall tower. When we landed on the ground, she turned around and glared at me. "Are you EVER going to give me any warning when you do that?!?" I gave her a cocky smile. "No, that would take all the fun out of it." She smiled back warmly. "Thank you for watching the city with me. It's been a...learning experience. I look forward to seeing you again." She took off my cape and held it out for me to take. "No, keep it. You need it a heck of a lot more than I do." She took it back and put it on. "Thanks and until next time, goodnight." "Goodnight." I said, as she turned around and ran off into the darkness. I stood there standing for the next few minutes, staring in the direction she had run off to. I was thinking of what had happened. What she had told me. What I had told her. What an amazing connection we shared. I started walking home in the still night, snow still falling to the city floor. My mind was swimming. I would get no sleep tonight. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- End of Chapter 1
