A Sailor Moon/Tuxedo Kamen Epic Story By Bunny bunny_154@yahoo.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Prologue "We have heard the chimes at midnight." -Henry IV part l, Act ll, sc 2 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "In local Tokyo news, there is an usually severy temperature drop expected tonight. Tokyo hasn't seen temperature drops like this in over seventy years. A light snow is even expected to fall sometime after midnight. Close your homes up and expect a long night. "In other news..." The reporter was cut off by the sound of the television clicking off. "Usagi, I'm worried. I have a feeling that this isn't just some unusual weather we're having." Luna said, looking up at me. I returned her gaze with agreeing eyes. Uneasiness stirred in the air, and I could feel the darkness all around me like a black cloud rolling in. I felt chills run up and down my spine. Uneasiness and restlessness forced me to get up off the couch and move to the window. I moved the curtain just enough for me to look out. I watched the trees dance in the moonlight as the wind howled an evil song. I noticed heavy clouds start to move in. I would find no peace tonight. In the background, I could faintly hear the clock chime midnight. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *~*~Across town at the Hiwaka Shrine*~*~ A beautiful raven-haired priestess sat in meditation before a great fire. The clock chimed midnight behind her, and in a moment of power, the fire roared, and the priestess recoiled in fear, as she tried to compose herself. The fire returned to its normal flame, and the priestess sat in thought with a scowl present of her flawless face, her violet eyes flashing a deep, hollow purple. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *~*~In a nearby apartment*~*~ Whoa! What was that? A sudden feeling of coldness surrounded me, and awoke me from a dreamless sleep. Goosebumps covered my skin, and I clutched my blanket closer to me for comfort. I wrapped it around my body, and hopped out of bed. I walked over to the balcony and looked over the quiet city. No matter how quiet the city was, I could feel the dark energy surround me. Like it was waiting to make its move. I could feel my body tense. I glanced over at my clock. It was flashing twelve o'clock. I looked outside and noticed small white flakes of ice beginning to fall from the black sky. This is *not* normal. Something is definitely wrong. I'd have to take a 'trip' around the city to see if everything is okay. Besides, I'm too uneasy to go back to bed. I might as well make some use of myself. I pulled out my scarlet rose to transform, and leapt off the balcony into the silent night. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *~*~Across town in a warm home*~*~ I stood and stared out my window. The sight I saw was shocking. There, drifting silently to the ground were small, white flakes of ice. This is not good. Something is terribly wrong. I should go check out the city to see if everything is okay. I glanced around the room to see if Luna had gone to bed yet. She wasn't in the living room, so I quietly crept into the kitchen to see if she was fixing herself a snack. She wasn't there, so I assumed she had gone up to my room for the night. Good, now she won't have to give me the fifth degree. As quietly as I could, I called out my henshin phrase and felt the pulsating energy of light flow through my body. Now, standing proudly as my alter ego, I opened the front door as quietly as I could, and shut it behind me. The frigid night air engulfed me at once. I clutched my arms around my body to slow the ensuing shivers, and ran off into the ebony night. I ran fast and hard to try and keep my body warm. It was moments like this that I cursed my skimpy fuku. I decided to run to Tokyo Tower. The top of the tower would give me a good view of the entire city. The snow was starting to gather more on the ground, making it difficult to run on such slick streets. I hit an icy patch on the road and started sliding. I lost control, and my cold hard encounter on the frozen pavement was inevitable. But it never came. Warm hands encircled around my waist stopping my fall before I could hit the cold pavement. Feeling the new warmth around me, I instinctively tried to move closer into it. I was shivering furiously. I didn't have to look to know whose arms were around me. I could just tell. I could feel him. "Tuxedo Kamen..." I breathed. He withdrew his arms and moved back. With his incredible heat gone, I began shivering again. I started to pivot to look at him, but before I could, he draped something over my shoulders. I clutched his cape closely to my body and noticed it was lined with fur. What? Since when does his cape have fur? "Thank you," I said softly. "It's freezing out here." I turned to face him. He was smiling gently at me. "What are you doing out here in this freezing weather anyway? You could get sick with that thing on." "I know there isn't a youma or anything, I just felt...weird. Like something was wrong. I don't know. It's a strange feeling." How on earth can I explain it to him without making him think I'm nuts? Oh no...the link. I completely forgot about it! I hope I didn't wake him. I didn't think about that at all. "I hope I didn't wake you up. If I did, I didn't mean to. I forgot about your link with me when I transform. I had only wanted to check on the city to see if everything was okay...I-" I blabbed on until he cut me off. "No, don't worry about it. Actually, I'm out here for the same reasons. I woke up with this terrible feeling that evil was around me. I keep waiting for something to happen, but I don't know how or when, so I went out to check the city as well." Then he paused, and smiled warmly at me. "Then I felt you transform, but knew there wasn't a youma, so I went searching for you. I'm glad I 'caught' you when I did." A cocky grin graced his lips. "Har Har Har." I said sarcastically. "Very funny. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get to the top of Tokyo Tower. Would you care to join me?" "Sure, I'd love to." He said smoothly. Hm...this could prove to be interesting... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *~*~Tuxedo Kamen's Point Of View*~*~ In one swift movement I wrapped my arms around her petite figure and leapt into the air. I could tell that was the last thing she expected from the look of surprise clearly evident upon her face. I smiled, clutching the girl beneath me tighter. In seconds, we were standing on top of the tower. Reluctantly, I released her. "Wow!" She exclaimed. "What a rush! You make that look so easy." She was beaming. "Well, it takes practice." I stepped out onto the ledge and sat down. The entire city surrounded us. The twinkling city lights reminded me of the covered up stars. Snow continued to fall quietly to the ground. "It's coming you know." "Iie," She said at a whisper. "It's already here." I looked at her incredulously, then turned to look over Tokyo, 333 meters in the air. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- End Prologue.
