Oh Boy... Part 2 By Bunny Standard Disclaimers Apply! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- I went back to my apartment to lay down, but I just couldn't keep still. Electricity shot through my veins and I had to get out. It was coming close to three, so I decided to go back down to the arcade and talk to Andrew. I hope Serena's ok. I'm sure she got whatever she needed to worked out with Andrew though. After all, he is her big brother. They're lucky to be so close. It makes me wonder if I ever had any siblings. I fell into my memories, and tried to push them away. The only thing that seemed to save me from myself was the image of a golden angel shining in front of me. She was truly the definition of beauty. A shining beacon of life and happiness. As I continued to walk to the arcade, she seemed to follow me...floating in front of me. I began to wonder if anyone else could see her, I mean, it's not everyday that a goddess is out floating above main street. The sun was right behind her, and she was facing me so I couldn't get a good look at her, but when we turned the corner, my jaw dropped. The angel was Serena. Oh boy. Now I'm starting to lose it. I just stopped and stared. I couldn't believe my eyes. There, right in front of me, was an angel floating above the street that looked just like my best friend's little sister. I opened my mouth to say something, but decided against it because of the looks I would have received from passerby. Then as quickly as she appeared, she was gone. Just like that. Poof. I shook my head trying to come back to reality. Man, this heat is doing strange things to me. Maybe I hit my head harder than I thought. I was thankful when I saw the door of the tiny arcade. I practically ran towards it. When I opened the door and walked in, the cool air of the air conditioner washed over me. I took a brief look around the room to see what was going on before I headed over to the counter. I noticed Serena and her friends gabbing in a booth in the corner. She paled visibly when she saw me, but couldn't look away. For the second time that day, we stood looking at each other. We would have stayed like that for eternity if her ebony- haired friend hadn't smacked the back of Serena's head, bringing us both back to reality. She turned around quickly, and I proceeded up to the counter. Andrew just stood there staring at me. "Um...are you okay Andrew? You look like you just saw a ghost." Andrew's fists tightened, and his knuckles turned white. Uh oh. What did I do??? I'm innocent I tell you!! I don't even know what I did! Was it the look I exchanged with his sister? It was nothing! I promise...even though I know it's a lie...but still! "Come with me Darien. We have to talk." He turned around and walked to the back room. Um...would I be a coward if I turned and ran right now? I'm thinking that might not be such a bad idea. He must have noticed I wasn't behind him, because his head popped out from the back, and motioned me to follow once again. Oh boy. Why do I have this strange sinking feeling in the bottom of my stomach? "What's wrong? Are you ok?" I asked nervously. We sat down on the couch. "Do you want to tell me what that look with my sister was about?" Um...no? I don't? "It was nothing Andrew. I just happened to see her when I walked in the café. I was worried about her, so I was looking to see if she was ok." Yah, that sounds good. "Right. I know you better than that. That wasn't your "checking" look. You were down and out checking her out, and you know it." Busted. Funny, he was strangely calm for discussing his sister. Somehow I have the feeling that's not why I'm back here. "Alright. Fine. My hand was caught in the cookie jar. Yes, I was "looking" at Serena like that. I think she's beautiful." I confessed. "But I would never do anything about it because she's your sister. I respect you too much for that." I quickly added. "Right. Funny, so there're two girls that have your heart on a string then." Wha? Huh? What the?? Andrew pulled out the paper and threw it down in front of me. Uh oh. He knew. But he couldn't. How would he? There's no possible way. "Um...so what? Are you talking about the picture? So what about it? I don't know anything. So what if Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask make out. What do I have to do with it?" That's good Darien. Just play innocent. "Gee Darien, you didn't tell me you were going out last night. I thought we were best friends. Don't you usually tell your best friend when you make out with a girl?" Andrew asked pointedly. He was starting to get mad, and I was getting nervous. Andrew is the most easygoing guy I know, so it's quite a feat to get him mad. And now he was...and his anger was focused at me. You could say I felt like a deer caught in headlights. "What? I wasn't...I didn't...I don't know what you're talking about!" Yep. Deer in headlights. He was after something, and he wasn't going to rest until he got it. Shit. I'm in trouble. "Darnit Darien! Quit messing around! Tell me the truth and tell me now!" He was starting to shout. I could tell that he was more hurt then mad though. Actually, I kind of feel bad for not telling him my secrets, but I couldn't tell anyone. Nada! Zip! Shouldn't he respect that? I thought for a second, and decided on what to do. Instead of saying anything, I merely pulled out a white rose and handed it to him. Andrew got a cocky grin on his face. "White, does this mean that you surrender?" He mocked. "What do you think it means?" I asked. "Why couldn't you tell me? I'm your best friend. Don't you trust me?" Andrew looked at me, the hurt apparent in his eyes. "10 years" He mumbled to himself, shaking his head. His eyes never left the white rose in his hand. "No, it's not like that. I couldn't tell anyone. Not just you. I was afraid that if you found out, "they" would find out, and come after you..." I hung my head. "..and Serena." I finished quietly. He looked up at me and smiled. "It's ok. I understand. You had your reasons." He paused, "But there's no excuse for not telling me about your feelings for my sister." He had a cocky grin on his face. Oh boy. He is *not* going there. I sighed in defeat. "I didn't tell you because I don't know myself. But, I suppose now that you know my secret, I can tell you the whole story." He seemed to look at me understanding. "You mean because of Sailor Moon?" I nodded. "Yah, it's funny actually. They're two completely different people, but they seem so similar. Both want to save the world. Both have a caring heart." I stopped, and got that cocky grin on my face. "Both have that goofy hairstyle." I laughed. He joined me. "Be careful, if she heard you say that, she'd kill you for sure." "How? With one of her flying ponytails?" We laughed even harder, but soon calmed down. "You've liked her a long time, haven't you." I opened my mouth to answer him, but he continued before I had the chance. "No, don't answer me. I can tell. The way you look at her, the special attention you give her when she's around. It doesn't take a blind man to see it. Now, what are you going to do about it?" My shoulders slumped. "I don't know. I have no clue. See, you wouldn't believe what ran through my mind this morning when I saw the front page. You see, I've got a problem. I'm not sure if I want Serena to be Sailor Moon, or Sailor moon Serena. Do you get what I mean? They remind me of each other, but I don't know whom I want more. When I had Sailor Moon last night, it was sheer bliss...but when I woke up today form my little "accident" in Serena's arms...I couldn't help but feel a little déjà vu. I can't seem to make up my mind." Andrew just sat patiently, listening to me drone out my problems. "Well, you'd better find out next time a youma attacks...or it won't be the youma that will be hurting you." He joked, but he knew as well as I that he was dead serious. The rest of the day passed rather uneventfully, and I went back home to catch up on the studies that I had missed at school during the day. Gut feeling told me there would be another youma attack tonight, and I wasn't looking forward to it. Not because of the youma, but because of her. I couldn't bring myself to look at her. I felt like I was betraying Serena when I looked at her, but when I looked at Serena, I felt like I was betraying Sailor Moon! What is wrong with me? I started thinking back on the "angel" I saw today. What did it mean? Was I imagining it all? Why did she look like Serena? Too many questions flooded my mind, so I stepped out onto my balcony for some fresh air. I gazed up at the stars thinking about my life. It was a new moon, so the sky was unusually dark. Then I felt it. The intense heat of Sailor Moon transforming pulsation throughout my body. Duty calls. I felt in my heart to figure out where to go, but this time it didn't answer me. Huh? That's strange, why can't I tell where Sailor Moon is? It's almost as if she's right here next to me. I looked around in panic. I hadn't transformed yet, and I was unsure whether I should do so or not. I remembered what Sailor Moon had said the other night, about being able to feel me when I was in Tuxedo Mask form, I wondered if that were true when I was in civilian form. I couldn't sense her, so could she sense me? I shook the thought out of my head and decided to transform. As I raised the rose up in the air, someone jumped down beside me, and a gloved hand grabbed my wrist, preventing me to transform. Now, what happened next it totally not my fault. It's not my fault that instinct took over, right? you'll take my side, won't you? Well, perhaps not after what I tell you...*sweatdrops* I couldn't see the "attacker", so I used my karate expertise, and knocked the person to the ground. I angled my body, and kicked them hard in the stomach. The person fell to the floor hard, then I turned to see who it was. I froze immediately. There, laying on the ground in front of me, was Sailor Moon clutching her stomach in pain. Um...oops? You baka! Don't just stand there gaping at her! Help her!! I picked her up into my arms, and she looked at me pained. "I was thinking of finishing what we started, but I don't think I'm going to give you that liberty now." She said, smiling weakly. "Oh my god! I am sooo sorry! I didn't know it was you! I'm so sorry! Did I hurt you? Are you ok?" My mind reeled. I brought her into the living room, and laid her down on the couch. Then it hit me. I wasn't Tuxedo Mask. She knew. Jesus! Does everybody know my secrets around here? Did Andrew tell her? Wait a minute...how does Andrew know Sailor Moon? If my mind was reeling before, I was completely lost now. Sailor Moon saw my agitated state, and put her arm on my shoulder to try and calm me down. It only helped a little bit. "Yah, I'll be fine. I shouldn't have sneaked up on you like that. You hadn't transformed yet, so I wasn't sure if I should approach you or not. Then I saw you with the rose, and I wanted to stop you. I wanted you like this." She said softly. Her voice was soothing, but I didn't want to be soothed. Her words only created more questions when I was already drowning in an abyss of them. One word. "How?" I choked out. She looked at me and smiled. "I have my ways." No way, if you think you can get away with an indirect answer like that, you are totally wrong. "No, that's not good enough. You have me at an unfair advantage. You know who I am, I don't know how you know, and I have no clue who you are. Did Andrew tell you?" I demanded. She seemed taken back. "No." She said curtly. "He did *Not* tell me. You did." She cocked one of her eyebrows, and looked at me mockingly. She knew what she said would mess with me. And she was right. I fell from my kneeling position beside her, to the floor in astonishment. I what? No, I've never told anyone except Andrew, so how would she know? Wait, how did Andrew know? He never did answer me... Oh boy. I'm in for it. "Ok, when? When did I tell you?" I asked in a smart tone of voice. I didn't know where I was going with this, but I wanted answers. "I can't tell you that yet." She said calmly. "Than what can you tell me?" I was starting to get frustrated. "I didn't come to tell you anything. I came to ask you a few questions." Great. Just great. Well, at least there isn't a youma. "Fine. What do you want to know?" Well, what could I tell her that she doesn't already know? "I need some information on a person. I want to know your relationship with her." Uh oh, I see where this is going. Just when I think it couldn't get any worse, it does. There's my life for you. "Tell me about your relationship with Serena Tsukino...(A.N.: er...furuhata? *sighs* whatever.)." She was so calm. It was eerie. Why does she want to know, and how does she know? Well, I suppose I should stop wondering how, because I'm not going to find out. *sigh* "What about my relationship with her. She's my best friend's little sister. What's there to know?" I remained calm on the outside, but my insides were like jelly. "Why do you want to know anyways?" ha! My turn to ask the questions! She thought for a moment, almost unsure of how to respond. "I just do! What's wrong with that? She happens to be a good friend of mine!" She shot at me. Ok, now I was starting to enjoy this. I got her. "Oh is she? And? Does she ever talk about me?" I asked coyly. Sailor Moon blushed. Blushed!! Of all the things she could have done, she blushed! "N..No! Of course not! Why would she? I..It...it's not like she *likes* you or anything!" She spat out. "Ok. That's fine. But why are *you* blushing?" I smiled. I got her and she knew it. "Blushing? I'm not blushing! It happens to be my natural color!" Ha! Now she's blushing even harder! "Really?" cocky grin. "So you're telling me you *naturally* look like a cherry?" I chuckled. It was fun watching her squirm. But, I had to get back to the busness at hand. "Why are you really here? You said you wanted to finish what we started," I grabbed her upper arm, and pulled her close to me, her front was against my chest. The look on her face registered surprise. "But that's not why you're here. I know you better than that. You wouldn't risk getting in trouble with the others simply to come and make out with me, no, you wanted something. Information I suppose? But what I don't understand, is why Serena? What does she have to do with any of this? How did you find out who I really am?" My words were firm, but I was surprisingly gentle. Now it was her turn to look like a deer caught in the headlights. Her ocean-blue eyes reflected a million emotions. She was silent for a few moments, then started to open her mouth to say something. But, instead of actually speaking, she closed the distance between our mouths in a kiss. That little vixen! Thinking just because she kisses me, that I'll forget what I asked! Well...well...she's right. *sigh* I gave up my assault, and let her assault me. When we stopped, both of us were gasping for air. We were silent and looking into each other's eyes. Then it hit me. Those eyes. Those familiar blue eyes. I flashed back to the arcade when Serena gazed at me. Her strange behavior earlier. Why she was asking about Serena. She *was* Serena! That would explain a lot. But how did she know? Andrew? No, she said I told her.... My mind was grasping for an answer. She said I told her...then Andrew? Yes! That's it!! I must have been talking in my sleep while I was at the arcade this morning! They heard me say I was Tuxedo Mask! That's gotta be it! Now, how to I play the cards I've been given? Hm...I'll have some fun with this. I leaned down to kiss her again, and right as it started to deepen, I pulled her away. She looked at me confused. "You know how much I want you, but don't you think your family will be worried about you?" "Huh? What makes you think that? They've never noticed before when there was a youma attack, so why would they now?" I smiled down at her. "Ok, so you stay, but for how long? Have you thought about the consequences of what you're asking for? Do you think it's right to play with my heart like this?" She looked down in thought. I cupped her chin, and lifted her head, forcing her to look at me. He skin was baby smooth. I hated to force her away like this, but it was better in the long run. Especially for what I've got planned. "I guess you're right. I suppose I was a fool for coming here, but I couldn't help myself." She said softly. "No, never. I was thrilled that you came. Trust me, tomorrow, you'll thank me for this." She left my embrace and started walking towards the balcony. I quickly followed her, grabbing her arm before she jumped. "One quick one for the road? Under the new moon?" She paused for a second, thinking about my offer. "And hey, no reporters this time." She laughed slightly and turned to me so we could share one last kiss under the stars. Our tongues danced and we parted reluctantly. She glanced at me one last time before she leapt from my balcony. I walked back in my apartment with a feeling of excitement. Tomorrow everything would be ok, and I just knew it. I went to bed looking forward to the day to come. The next morning I went to crown arcade as usual to have a little fun with Andrew. When I walked in, he smiled in my direction and said 'good morning'. "Andrew, was your sister home last night?" I asked. "Yah, why?" He responded. "No reason. Just curious." "I see that we're meeting mysterious sailor suited soldiers even when youma aren't attacking." I spit out my coffee that I had in my mouth. "WHAT??? How did you know about that? Did she tell you?" I asked, shocked. "She who? You made the front page again buddy, this time as you." I grabbed the paper out of his hand and looked at the rather large picture grazing the front of it. Yet once again, the newspaper caught Sailor Moon and I in a rather deep kiss. The headlines read "SAILOR MOON CHEATS ON TUXEDO MASK AND MAKES OUT WITH LOCAL CIVILIAN - NO YOUMA ATTACK" "Woah, this is not what it looks like. It was one small innocent kiss. That's all." I said in my defense. Andrew just looked at me and rolled his eyes. "Right, that sure looks innocent. Is that a tongue I see?" He teased, pointing to the paper close to our mouths. "No!" I shouted. "So I see you made your decision then." He asked rather solemnly. I looked at him and smiled. "Yes I did. I've decided that I want both of them." I was beaming. "You what? But you can't do that. That's unfair!" Andrew protested. "It's not, and you know it. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to get to school, and you too if you don't want to be late. I'll see you this afternoon!" I said, and walked out of the café, leaving a shell-shocked Andrew in my wake. I started on my way to school in the cool morning air truly enjoying life. Nothing could get me down. I was in a great mood. I lifted my head up to the sky and let the morning sun beat down on my face. It was wonderful, until another lamppost hit me. I jumped back dazed from what had just piled into me. Lamppost! Lamppost indeed! A lamppost with two meatballs for hair. As always, she starts apologizing profusely before she even sees who or what she hit. She sure is kawaii. I walked over to her and offered her my hand. She looked up at me and finally saw who she hit. Her cheeks were stained pink, and she looked down. "Here, let me help you up." I said smoothly. It was strange seeing her after what happened last night. It's funny because I know, but she doesn't know I know, but she knows. Do you know what I mean? *sweatdrops* Heck, I'm confusing myself here. She reached out and accepted my hand, and I pulled her to her feet. I smiled at her knowingly, but she didn't pick up on it. She only smiled back. I stared at her a moment, before deciding to make my exit. "I'll see you later Serena! You'd better hurry or you'll be late for school. You'll be at the arcade tonight, right?" She nodded, dumbfounded. I chuckled to myself at how cute she looked. "Good, I'll see you then. Bye!" I waved, and walked away. That day at school was agonizing. Not the school part, but the waiting. Each second that passed felt like an eternity. I couldn't wait till I walked in that arcade this afternoon. I bet your wondering what I'm planning on doing, right? Well, I'm not going to tell you! You'll just have to find out when Serena does this afternoon! The day slowly came to an end, and I practically ran to the arcade. Wow, if I were in the Olympics, I could totally whip anyone that stood in my way. I was a determined boy. I burst into the arcade when I reached it. The look on Andrew's face was priceless. I scanned the place quickly. Good, she's not here yet. I'd better check with Andrew just incase though. "Hey Andrew, is your sister hear yet?" I asked, between breaths. "Yes, actually she is. She came home early because she wasn't feeling well. She's in the back room. Why, what are you planning?" He asked. "I have something to give her, that's all. By the way, I already know, so don't worry." I said as I started to walk into the backroom. I left before Andrew could respond to what I said. I pushed the door open to the backroom and walked in. She was there lying on the couch next to the window with hee eyes closed. She was bathed in sunlight and looked just like the angel I saw yesterday. I magically pulled a white rose out of the air, and walked over to her sleeping form. I held the rose up underneath her nose so she would inhale the scent when she breathed. She smiled slightly, and moaned a bit in her sleep. As beautiful as you look sleeping beauty, I can't let you sleep forever. Her lips were parted slightly in a smile. I bent over and covered them with my own. That woke her up. "Darien? What are you doing here?" She asked, looking around the room to see if anyone else was there. "We're alone. Why do I get the feeling that you're not too sick?" I asked her. She looked at me, then glanced down. "I just didn't feel good, so Andrew left school early to pick me up and bring me here. I'm just so tired." She explained. "Yah, staying up late can do that to you." I said. Her head shot up and she looked at me. Well, it's now or never Darien. "I assume you've seen the paper this morning?" She nodded, and mumbled something about 'damn reporters' under her breath. I couldn't help but smile. "I just thought I'd let you know that I'm not pleased with you cheating on me with a local civilian. It isn't nice to play with my heart like this." I smiled, and pulled a red rose out from behind my back and handed it to her. Realization began to set in with her that I knew. "How did you...?" She asked, looking at me shocked. I simply smiled. "Hey, you didn't tell me, so why should I tell you?" I joked. She batted my head with the roses. "Why didn't you tell me last night when I came to your apartment?" She asked, looking me in the eyes. "Because I wanted to tell you, not Sailor Moon." I smiled. "Speaking of wanting you, you should have seen the look on Andrew's face this morning when I told him I was going to have you both. He looked like he was going to pound me. *laugh* It's funny, he was going to pound me for having to choose between yourself. It was hysterical. Too bad he didn't know my motives then. Then I ran into you...er...you ran into me this morning," She blushed, "and you were totally freaked. I noticed you were early, so I assumed you were trying to avoid me? Well, I was too. Because I didn't want to see you until this afternoon." I sat down on the couch next to her and took her into my arms. "You don't know how horrible today was watching the time slowly pass by. I was seconds away from just going down to Juuban and telling you the truth, but I guess you wouldn't have been there anyways." Serena smiled, then looked down thinking. "I thought you only liked Sailor Moon, so that's why I came to your apartment last night as Sailor Moon. I wanted to know what you thought of the 'real' me." She smiled and paused a bit, "And then, when you told me to leave as Sailor Moon, I thought you didn't like us both. That's why I was so nervous when I saw you this morning. I didn't think you knew." She blushed a bit and looked down. "Do you want to know the truth of why I turned you down last night?" She nodded. "Well, Sailor Moon isn't mine to have. She's Tuxedo Mask's. Now you, I wanted you for myself. Just plain ol' Serena for plain ol' me. I wanted to show you that it wasn't only Sailor Moon that drew me to you, it was the whole package. I wanted to prove to you that I liked the real you, not just Sailor Moon." I stopped and looked her in the eyes. "And now that I'm here, will you have me?" Her face lit up and she smiled a smile that could have lit the moon. She jumped on me and encircled her arms around me. I held her close and inhaled the sweet scent of her perfume. "Do you know how long I've wanted this moment?" She asked quietly. I pulled her away from me enough so I could look into her eyes. They were glossy with unshed tears of happiness. "About as long as I have?" She smiled and moved her head closer to mine so she could kiss me, but right before she could, I pulled her away. Confusion was apparent on her face. "Quick!" I said, "Before we kiss again, are there any reporters around?" I asked. She looked around the room, and her eyes fell one the crack of the door. "No, only nosy older brothers." She said giggling, and closed the gap between our lips. Fin ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Done!
