"To-ya!"
Yu...ki... *dies*
Ka...wa...ii... *dies again*
*cough* Sorry. ^_^ As can be seen from the above, this is another guy I'm madly and totally in lust with. ^__^ Yuki is just as gorgeous as Touya; the only fault I can find is that the anime makes him look like a ghost far too often. 0_o (he looks like he's wearing foundation or something...) Other than that, he always has the effect of making me want to glomp him and steal his big specs and ruffle his pretty silver hair...*cat-ears* I prefer Yuki as he's drawn in the manga; the finer line drawings bring out a certain delicacy in his features that the anime just cannot.
*hearts* Yuki is one of those guys girls dream about in both terms of looks *and* character. Unfortunately, as with too many characters from transition from manga to anime, his eye colour undergoes not-so-nice changes. CLAMP colours his eyes a lovely hazel brown in the manga, but there are too many anime pics of him I've seen with mud brown or dark grey eyes. *sigh* Ah, well.
Yuki is very like Kurama from Yuu Yuu Hakusho, character-wise and the double-personality thing. ^__^ They're both very gentle and kind persons concerned about their loved ones around them and who aren't afraid to show it. Then they morph into their alter egos and wham, you get something that's like them and yet is strikingly different. Am I making sense? Never mind, for a more in-depth commentary you can read Yue's profile. Anyway. I agree with Sakura-chan that our sweet snow bunny truly is a 'suteki na hito'... as in our heroine's case, I don't think anyone could seriously dislike him. Sure, he's got a stomach that rivals Miaka or Usagi and he plays so damn innocent and confused half the time, but it's obvious he's got more under that cheerful face than it would seem. People who can tease Touya as and when they please and get away unharmed every time are never simple. *gryn* (and in CCS, just _look_ at all the perpetual niko-niko characters hiding secrets...Tomoyo, Eriol, Mizuki...o_o)
Yuki's also a jack-of-all-trades-and-master-of-all. He can do *anything*, from basketball to archery to cooking and sewing, etc, etc. He's so good in everything he specialises in nothing, thus accounting for his lack of an extra-curricular activity in Seijou. He just goes anywhere and does anything he needs to. *_*
Ogata Megumi does his voice (note the Kurama connection here again) and she does it really well, may I add. I think that light, soft alto is Yuki all over and then some. ^_^ I melt every single time I hear him go 'To-ya!' in the anime. ^__^ Oh, did you know his full name means 'moon castle snow rabbit', very literally translated? *piku* CLAMP does an excellent job of forming subtle hints and connexions everywhere...
As with Tomoyo, I see Yuki as a very complex character. He's supposedly created by Yue as a mere temorary form, but even in this temporary form he has his own mind and feelings, his own *soul*. How'd you feel like knowing you were created for someone's use? I don't know. Not too many of his feelings are revealed in the course of the manga/anime. If you're interested, <shameless plug> I've written a fic called 'Tamashii no Yakusoku', an alternate-universe type fic detailing how Yukito and Yue came to be one, so to speak. And if you don't mind m/m stuff, you can follow that up with 'By Moonlight' and 'Resolution'. ^_~ </shameless plug>
yukito and sakura
My sole purpose of this section is wanting to knock some sense into my beloved if irritating Liying-chan and the Weird Sisters to point out how obvious it is that He thinks of Her as nothing more than, quoth Meg again, The Little Sister He Never Had. 'Isn't she cute? To-ya has a sister!' Yeah, he's sweet and kind and esecially fond of her, but it doesn't go any deeper than that. The manga's already confirmed it. *brrpt* Don't you make my Yuki into a paedophile...:p
And come on, he's just about the only guy Touya will let NEAR Sakura *willingly*. How much does that speak for itself, when you consider the eagle's eye Onii-chan has for spotting would-be suitors within a radius of 10 metres? Mou...
yukito and touya
I think quite a lot of peeps know how beloved I am of these two *smirk*, but as I am somewhat more explicit in my 2 cents worth on this particular relationship, click the link at your own discretion. It's the same one as in the Touya profile. I've warned, and it's your business whether you want to be intelligent or otherwise. *beam*
Our snow rabbit definitely ranks high on my list of top ten anime men. *hearts-niko* I think he's lovely, but I don't think he can exactly be classified as a bishounen, because, well, he isn't pretty to the extent where he would look good in a miniskirt, or have people mistake him for a girl, But he's definitely pretty. Ask Touya if you need any more confirmation. ^____^
