Minato-ku Juuban, October 31, 1992 Dear Ryo-kun, Hello! How are you doing right now? I am glad to know that things over there have been going smoothly, and I know that in no time, you will feel right at home over there! What a coincidence it is that you were alone in the house when you got my letter, as I am alone in the house right this very minute! Mother is out again on an all-night shift at the hospital, and she seems to be very busy lately. I don't mind being alone in the house at all, because I know that Mother is working hard to save all those poor, sick people. And being alone at home helps me hone my cooking skills, which are so far limited to making sandwiches (my favorite food!). ^_^ Oh, Ryo-kun, don't you worry! I'm sure you'll be able to meet more friends soon! I was that way, too, before I met Usagi-chan, Rei-chan and Mako-chan. I was then what you could call a little bit reclusive (anti-social, maybe ^^), but thanks to them, I realized that there was more to life than books and high grades. All I had to do was to get out of my shell and trust in them, and I'm sure you will be able to make friends if you do the same things! Having friends is most rewarding, and I know that you can't go wrong once you have found them. You can always count on me, Ryo-kun, to be your friend forever, if it makes you feel any better! Thank you very much for answering Usagi-chan's questions as well. Let me be the one to thank you for her. You are very patient for answering all those questions! You can be sure that this little piece of paper will get to her soon, and I won't even take a peek! But you are right about Motoki-san, Ryo-kun! Usagi-chan does seem to like him very much. And I will also tell Mako-chan that you asked about her! I know that she will be very pleased to know that you want to make sure she's fine. Oh, you should have a lot of faith in my mom's diagnoses, for she has never gone wrong yet. But you should not be worried if you still feel a little bit homesick, because adjusting to a new town doesn't just happen in an instant, does it? I will be looking forward to your visit soon! Please let us know when you are coming, Ryo-kun, and we will prepare for that day when it comes. Just be sure to tell us before time (but a surprise would be very good, also!)... I should've known that you knew Rei-chan already. You never fail to surprise me, Ryo-kun! Yes, she is in fact, a Sailor Senshi, just like Usagi-chan, Mako-chan and me. She is Sailor Mars, the senshi of fire (doesn't it become her, Ryo-kun?). You will be able to meet her soon when you visit Minato-ku Juuban! She lives at the Hikawa Jinja, with her grandfather. She tells us that she wants to be a Shinto priestess someday, and I have no doubts about it, for she is quite good at meditation! Poor Rei-chan! Today was quite a hard day for her. First, she got into a fight with Usagi-chan, and she even pushed her away because she was mad at her! Then, she almost got killed by her own grandfather! Rei-chan's grandfather had one of the nijizuishou, just like you back then, and it turned him into a youma. How terrible for her to fight her own grandfather! Luckily, someone saved her, a man she found sleeping on the steps of the Hikawa Jinja just this morning. His name was Kumada Yuuchirou, and Usagi-chan tells me that he was in love with Rei-chan, and that she was going to match them up! Silly, silly Usagi-chan! Always thinking about romance… Anyway, when we were at the temple eating some wonderful daifuku (courtesy of Usagi-chan), Rei-chan's grandpa said that he won't let Kumada-san marry Rei-chan! And Rei-chan gave Kumada-san a little kiss for saving her life! What a strange day it was, everyone thinking about romance! Well, at least Usagi-chan and Rei-chan already made up with each other, that was the only normal part of the day. Hope to hear from you again soon, Ryo-kun! Sincerely, Mizuno Ami-san |
