Part II

he next thing Makato knew, she was 4 1/2 and everyone called her Lita. She tried to get people to call her Makato, her true name, but nobody listened to her. They didn't remember. She watched helplessly as she saw people who should of been dead. Her mother, her father, her relatives, they were all dead. She'd seen the destruction Queen Baryle had caused, they should of been dead. Then she remembered Queen Selenety. She remembered her last words, and her last effort. And her memories haunted her.

For all her life she knew, and remembered her past. She hated knowing, she didn't want to know, she just wanted to be a normal girl again. When she slept at night, she dreamed of the balls, the parties, the celebrations, the love, the fashion designing she loved to do, her friends, her family, and how she failed them all. It haunted her dreams, giving her vicous nighmares plagued with pain and suffering. Of all of them, there was one that was the worst, and that was the one in which she dreamed she ruthlessly killed all her friends.

It had taken her some time, but she finally figured out why she remembered everything from her past life. It had to do with the fact that Queen Selenity had thought everyone to be dead, but in fact Makato hadn't been dead at the time, she was mearly unconscious. Though for a while she didn't remember her past life, it quickly returned as she aged. By the age of 4, her nightmares started. But all her problems weren't just because her memories weren't erased, some were because of her parents.

Though the Sailor Scouts, once called Soliders they now called themselves scouts, didn't know about it, her parents were very abusive. Her mom, who quickly became an adictive drinker after the miscarage of Lita's little brother, began to drink more frequently. She would often yell at Lita until she was too drunk to remain conscious. Most of the time Lita just took it, but everyonce in a while she stood up for herself. That usually got her in a lot of trouble from her father, a crack adict. He would beat on her until she renounced every sin she ever commited, often babbling about her past and confusing her parents even more.

Once Lita had even tried to run away. She packed all the money she had and food she could into her backpack and took off. Unfortunetly, she was still 5, and she couldn't do much as a 5 year old. She ran to the park, hoping to get at least a proper view. She didn't, and when she broke down in teary hysterics from fear that her parents would beat her for running away a voice called her back to reality. He was young, about Lita's body's age, and he was nice.

"Hey, what's wrong girl?" the dark brown headed boy asked her.

"I tried to run away, but I can't get out of the neighborhood," Lita sobbed to him.

"Why do you want to run away?" he asked. Lita looked at him in surprise. She wasn't sure if she should tell him. She decided not to.

"What's your name?" she asked him.

"Ken. What's your's?" He smiled as her tears stopped.

"My names Lita," she gave him a smile.

"You want to play with me Lita?" Ken asked. Lita looked up at him and smiled. She nodded and they went to play in a park, something she hadn't done in years. Maybe, she thought, just maybe I can live a normal life, for a little while anyways.

That night Lita went home, even though she was really scared her parents might beat her agian. When Lita did come back, she realized her parent's hadn't even noticed she was missing. Ever since then, Lita had gone to play with him and they were best friends. He was always there for her when something bad happened. She never had to worry too much cause she could always talk to him. She never did tell him about her parents, but she figured he suspected that most of her bruises weren't from falling out of bed.

Lita remembered a time her parents had been sobber, and that was before her brother's miscarage. Her mom use to bake with her and her dad would give her piggy back rides. Her mom would sing to Lita and she would tell her bed time stories. Her dad would take her fishing or they'd go bug hunting or look for tadpoles at a ditch. Lita remembered her dad had once helped her catch a jar ful of fireflys and they stayed up all night laughing about them. Her dad had even carried her into her bed when she fell asleep in the rocking chair on the porch. That was one of Lita's fondest memories. But lately, Lita couldn't remember a time when her parents had been sobber. Maybe that was because she was only 3 when the miscarage happened.

One night, after Lita's 5th birthday 'party' for all her parent's adict friends, Lita was awoken by the sound of nothing. There wasn't a sound to be heard, and it worried her. She had gotten out of bed that night and discovered her mother had died of intoxication. She had cried a little, but in the end, her heart just wasn't into missing her mom. Even though she had been terrible to her, Lita was sad to see her go. She figured she'd be alone in the end again, when it was time for her to become a Sailor Solider again. The thought was bittering, but there was nothing she could do against fate.

When she told her father her mom was dead, he beat her for not telling him sooner, for not crying, and for being a terrible daughter who drove her mother to drinking. Lita didn't believe a word of what her father said, but she cried because she she knew in a way that it truely was her fault. That if she had saved the princess, they wouldn't all be on this foreign planet, they wouldn't be adicts, and her friends wouldn't have to go through the pain she was feeling. She felt deep in her heart that if she had been stronger, that if she had stopped Darien from sacraficing himself, they might of been spared and the evil would be gone already.

ears later, when Lita had accepted her new name and her father had become even more of a hardcore adict, she began to toughen up. She began to change, becoming imune to people. She started working out, becoming as strong and tough as she could get. She started getting in fights, she took self defense classes, she took karate, and for fun, she took a cooking class. They were all after school but she didn't want to be around her abusive father, and they were good excuses.

Ken would help her most of the time. He was either a target or assistent chef, depending on the activety. He knew what Lita was going through, but he felt that he should keep it a secret. If she had wanted him to know, she would of told him by now. He knew he was probably one of the few reasons she hadn't tried to kill herself. He figured if he hadn't been there for Lita when her old boyfriend Freddie dumped her, she wouldn't be there. He remembered how they had gone back to his place and she had cried herself to sleep on his shoulder. He had to admit though, she did seem a lot happier the next morning. Too bad the next day Lita came to school with a lot of bad make-up trying to cover a new shinner from her dad.

The only thing that had kept her from commiting suicide was her intense interest in cooking, Ken, and the knowledge that she had to live so that she could protect the princess. Lita felt that she owed Ken her life, and she knew he didn't want to see her throw it all away. She didn't want to disappoint him. Luckily, she was able to express most of her feelings in her fantastic cooking and her ability to fight. She felt very confident in both. To her, the one thing she wasn't sure of being a good or a bad thing was the intense feeling she had to live. Like there was something she was suppossed to do before she could end it all. Like she owed somebody out there more than her very soul, and that somebody didn't want her dead yet. That somebody had a hold of her soul and kept it in her body, kept it from floating off to a high, happier place. It was some kind of intense pull inside of her that wouldn't let her die, like it was guarding her from major harm. She often refered to it as a guardian angel locked within herself. But she never told anyone about her dreams or her problems, and she didn't ever plan to. She figured they'd end as soon as the Sailor Team was joined up once again. She was right.

About 9 months before she was going to turn 14, she found out her father was in a heroine ring, and he was the main dealer. She was disappointed, slightly depressed, but not surprised. About 2 weeks later her father began to act very nervously. In less than a week the cops found his body and his car in the ocean near a steep cliff. An intox. report claimed he'd over dosed on crack while driving and he callapsed, sending the car over the cliff. Lita had moved to her uncle's place before anytype of media could advertise it. She figured the ring might be after her, but to her luck they weren't. After all, she figured, this isn't America or anything like that.

Coincidently upon her arrival to her uncle's, he started traveling due to his job and a nice raise. Lita, just transfering to Crossroads Junior High with a rather bad reputation for fighting, found she rather liked it there. For the first time, she was able to have friends, and live a relatively normal life. Though she couldn't see Ken as often, she was now Sailor Jupiter, a role she was use to and glad to have back. Now she felt she had meaning to her life, she wasn't just walking around in endless circles.

As Sailor Jupiter, she even got to be leader for a short while. She knew who the Moon Princess was, but she doubted anyone of them would believe she remembered her past, and she doubted they'd believe Serena was the princess they were searching for. So she kept her knowledge a secret and let them assume what they wanted. For some reason, as she began to become better friends with them, it became harder and harder for her to keep her emotional distance. But for her, somethings just couldn't be told.

Like when they asked if she got in fights a lot and why, she'd have to threaten them, no matter how much it hurt. Or when they asked where her parents were, she told them they died in a car accident and that she now lived alone. She knew that if she told them the truth they'd claim to understand, but she doubted they truelly would. She knew they were her friends, but her past experiences made it so hard for her to connect with them. Then Sailor Venus showed up, saving them from a terrible trap. Lita had been over joyed to see her old best friend had finally arrived, until she found out that she had changed as well. She knew she should of expected it, but she had hoped for so long. It had cut Lita to the quick to find out that Minako had died along with the Moon Kingdom, only to leave mear shells of all her old friends. Sure, most of them had their old names, or close variations, but they were still so different.

Sure, Rei was rather religios, but the she was never a priestess. And this new Raye, she was so stubborn, even more so than she had been. Lita wondered what had happened in this life that was so different from her old one. And Minako, she was so airy now, not that she hadn't been before. But Mina would go through these vacant spells where she'd be a total air head one minute then a smart, glamerious, leader the next. Lita remebered the leadership part, but not the vacant spells. But this Mina was also a dancer, something Minako-chan had always been, and it was something she truely loved, and Lita guessed it had carried over.

Ami, she was a worrier, and she liked to learn, but this Amy was way too uptight. She was always worried about her grades, like they truely mattered in the end. They were Sailor Scouts weren't they, who needs grades when you're protecting the last true princess of the solar system? But that question was Serena's influence. Nolong the elegant girl she use to be, this Serena was a major klutz. It was pretty bad, Lita never thought any one could be that pathetic. But she soon realized that Serena was a true heroine at heart. She figured she was only klutzy because she had never gotten any training as a Sailor Solider back on the Moon.

But Lita's depressed state over her friends was quickly lifted. Mina was able to even cheer her up. Soon her and Lita were great friends once again, but there was always something between them, like a barrier. Atleast, that's what Lita thought there was. When the Scouts had gone up against Queen Baryle, Lita realized the barrier wasn't because Mina had changed, it was because Lita had changed. It was becuase she couldn't except people anymore, and she figured it was their fault. She sighed, and figured it was probably her parents' fault. She smiled as she realized she was doing it again, she was blaming other people.

Lita remembered when Ken had saved her life from one of Ann and Allan's monsters. He had always been watching over her, and when that cardian threw him off into the ditch instead of her, she felt her heart tear in two again. Again, Lita watched as the one person closest to her, her best friend, was about to die. And it was her fault, it was because she hadn't transformed in time to stop it and save him. But to her great rejoice, she was able to save him when she donated her blood to him. And that day, she found out who her real friends were.

Sailor Moon had insisted that Jupiter not fight, she was too weak from donating to fight. Jupiter had saved Sailor Moon's life that night. Billions of times over, they had been there for one another. Time after time, each scout saved one another, each repaid their debt from the past 10 fold. Like when they faced Nepherenia, Jupiter had protected Serena from Nepherenia, and it was her rose earring that brought her out of her trance.

And Mars saved Neptune, Uranus saved Mercury, Venus saved Pluto, Reenie was disappearing, Darien was under a spell, Saturn tried to kill Nepherenia. But they all wound up captured only to be released by Serena's love. And it was this love that remade Tokyo into Crystal Tokyo, starting a new Silver Millenium.

upiter looked at the green gem necklace in her hand. It was encassed in gold with the 4 other inner solider signs and gems in it. In the center of the large green gem sat the sign of Jupiter. And on the back was Lita Makato's face. She turned the large stone necklace over in her hand.

She looked out the window to her east wing bedroom. She had decorated it in shades of green. On her window sil sat a bed of pink flowers. And only a few feet infront of her 3rd story window was a huge Mamosa tree, sprouting pink leaves in the spring breeze. Blue Jays flew past her wind, surprising her out of her tranquile state. She stepped back in surprise, accidently letting her gem necklace slip through her fingers. It hit the marble floor with a frightening shatter, as the top half cracked open to reveal itself to Lita.

Lita dropped to her knees and looked at the locket in awe. Inside were the gems of Neptune, Uranus, Pluto and Saturn, all surrounding a bright gold gem. And inside this bright gold gem was the sign of infinity. Lita Makato picked up the locket as she recalled that the sign of infinity was often called...

"Eternal..." Lita whispered as a bright light engulfed her for only the millionth time this life. And to her even greater surprise, Eternal Sailor Jupiter was starring into the eyes of a man she hadn't seen in ages. The one man she ever loved. Zoisite clasped his hands around her trembling ones, and kissed her gently on the lips. Around them, Mars, Mercury, Venus, Neptune and Uranus appeared in Eternal forms along with Queen Serenity and Prince Darien. They all smiled, cluthing a loved one.

Well, that's it for this story. Keep checking back for the rest of the Sailor Solider's personal stories. I know it was a bit of a dark fic and not everything fits perfectly, but there's only so much info and so the rest I made up. I happen to think it's all very conviencing. Send your comments to me at moonlightkiss@geocities.com . I hope you enjoyed it.
