The split occurs between the American-Dubbed Episodes #6 (Time \par Bomb)\par and #7 (An Uncharmed Life). There, the first Dark Adventure of mine \par takes\par place (entitled "For The Love Of Mercury"). After that, the story \par lines run\par roughly parallel up until Episode #40 (Day Of Destiny). The major \par change with\par that episode is that no one loses their memories and Serena keeps the \par Crescent\par Moon Wand. At that point, the Sailor Moon plot line goes one way while \par the\par Sailor Moon V plot takes a sharp turn to deep left field. \par \par I've already received several complaints about minor \par discontinuities in\par the stories. Keep in mind that this is a parallel plot and that small \par details\par may be out-of-order by either accident or design (or ignorance of the \par real\par answers). Also, keep in mind that my only source for information about \par the\par Sailor Moon "world" is from the American episodes from DIC. The known \par and\par obvious discontinuities are:\par \par \tab The incorrect spelling of Lita (I always heard it as Leda. I liked it\par \tab so I kept it. Makes more sense, too, if you know alot about Greek\par \tab mythology).\par \par \tab Darian's jeep (I knew he had a bike, but I wasn't sure about the car\par \tab he drove. Having a jeep sounded cool so I let him have one).\par \par \tab Ami and Greg never really hit it off (namely because Ami has Tolaris).\par \par \tab Mina and her family live in a studio apartment (sounded cool when I\par \tab first wrote it).\par \par \tab Chad's attitude towards Rei (Chad doesn't worship her as much as he\par \tab does in the series and won't take a lot of her attitude).\par \par \tab Zoisite's gender (keep in mind my source for this....)\par \par \tab The incorrect spelling of Jaedite (wrote the 1st Episode before I \par found\par \tab out how to correctly spell it).\par \par \tab Lita's past relationships (I only know she once had a boyfriend named\par \tab Freddy who dumped her. Everything else you read about her past was\par \tab made up by me).\par \par \tab The Shinto religion uses shrines instead of temples (tell that to the\par \tab people who wrote the script for the US version).\par \par Another potentially fatal mistake is the number of liberties I've \par taken\par with this story. Fan-fiction means I get carte blanche with the story \par lines,\par but I do hope I didn't go overboard. FAIR WARNING: The first episode \par is rather\par clean and nice, but (IMHBEO) the plot quality kinda drops a bit in the \par second\par story ("By The New Moon's Light"). Also, starting with the 2nd \par Episode, there\par are certain scenes that some readers may not like (ie: The various \par Scouts get\par some with their boyfriends....), so if you don't go for that kind of \par stuff, you\par are advised not to read it. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. \par [Note: IMHBEO means In My Humble But Expert Opinion. Just so you \par know.]\par \par \par The list of liberties are as follows:\par \par Episode #1 (For The Love Of Mercury)\par Tolaris's powers are modeled after X-Men's Storm.\par Maze looks vaguely like Rei from "Vampire Hunter D".\par The name/group "Dragoons" was taken from the game "Final Fantasy \par II"\par Dyvach's name was adapted from "Taran Wanderer" by Lloyd \par Alexander.\par Ensign Tempest looks an awfully lot like X-Men's Storm :)\par The oft-used phrase "Ami, we've got to get you out more" was \par taken from\par \tab a piece of fan-fiction entitled "Digital Moon" by Mike Koos.\par \par (I talked to Mike about that one and he kinda liked it. Thanks, Mike!)\par \par \par Episode #2 (By The New Moon's Light)\par Mina's ancestral lineage was based partly on Bram Stoker's \par Dracula.\par Daigan's name was taken from somewhere, but I can't remember \par where :(\par Daigan looks a LOT like Count Strahd from AD&D's RAVENLOFT \par campaign.\par Shar-Tei's reflex power came from Robotech.\par \par \par Episode #3 (Of Love And Crystal)\par The Napoleon reference was adapted from a routine by The \par Greaseman.\par \tab ("Napoleon, get your hand out of your pants and put it in your\par \tab shirt. History will give you more respect that way....")\par \par \par Episode #4 (Shadows Of The Past)\par I make no apologies for the Smurf joke.\par The MechBlaster 3000 was modeled after the heavy assault weapon \par used by\par \tab Drake and Vasquez in the movie "Aliens".\par The name Raijen stems from a mistranslation of Raiden.\par The Highlander references stemmed from a converstation I had \par with one\par \tab of my fan-friends. Thanks for the input, Skywise!\par \par \par Episode #5 (Time Enough For Love)\par Reish'id's name was taken from that super-old arch-enemy of \par Batman from\par \tab the Animated Series, Ra's Al-ghul (don't bother trying to figure\par \tab out how I diddled with the spelling).\par Reish'id's voice is modeled after Shere Khan's from "Tale Spin".\par The village of Asleen is based on a city from the movie \par "Willow".\par The 'Dark' and related elements were taken from "Vampire \par Princess Miyu".\par \par \par Episode #6 (The Return From Darkness)\par The names Alex, Susan, and Michelle in reference to the Outer \par Scouts\par \tab were picked up from a discussion in rec.arts.anime, I belive (I \par could\par \tab be wrong). I don't remember who said what, but my thanks to \par whomever\par \tab was involved.\par The character of Mephisto was taken from the original anime \par movie\par \tab "Demon City Shinjuku".\par The name Myst was taken from the interactive CD-ROM game made by \par whomever\par \tab made it. (I don't know who did, but I really like the name).\par \par Episode #7 (Something to Remember)\par The name Aria in reference to Lady Mars was inspired by the \par character\par Aria Goodhalo from Lucasart's "Afterlife"\par Yes, I've kept the name Hotaru as the name for Sailor Saturn... \par but\par only in her past incarnation. \par If there is a stocky blonde named Amanda Parkins out there in \par the\par real world, I do apologize. Sheer coincidence.\par \par On the drawing board:\par \par Episodes #8 - #15.\par Yes, I really have things planned out that far. I won't say \par much about\par it, but I will be bringing in the Outer Scouts (ie: Saturn, \par Uranus,\par Neptune, and Pluto). I have *NO* idea how they came into the \par regular\par Sailor Moon series, so I'm making *all* of this up and there is \par *no way*\par any of you will be able to see any of this coming. For those of you who've been waiting on edge since this \par started,\par Serena and Darian will finally go at it in an episode. It won't \par be\par graphic but you will get the general idea....\par \par A few juicy highlights: The return of the Outer Scouts, a new \par Sailor\par Scout drops in (and she didn't come for Rei's tea....), more \par background\par on the Moon Kingdom and the Silver Millenium is revealed, \par General Rune\par cooks up one hell of a pop-tart (that's a nasty surprise, BTW), \par not one\par but two of the Negaverse's Top Ten Evil Hall of Famers returns \par from the\par darkness of the past to cross paths with the Sailor Scouts, and \par an\par entirely new set of beings from yet another dark and evil \par dimension\par crash-land into the lives of the Sailor Scouts. Oh, did I \par mention the\par Chinese ninja?\par \par \par The names Kay, Morgan, and Minerva in reference to Sailor Scouts \par have\par \tab been taken with permission from a piece of fanfiction entitled\par "Moonlit Destiny" by Bill Barbas (\cf1\ul cybear@netcom.com \cf0\ulnone ).\par The airborne carrier "Storm" has been loosely modeled after the \par Sky\par \tab Pirate's "Iron Vulture" from Disney's "Tale Spin".\par The name Zenaida came from a long-forgotten schoolmate, Zenaida \par Serrano.\par \par (Zenaida actually tripped over this README file somehow and wrote to \par me. It\par was quite good to hear from her, but for some reason she either never \par got my\par replies or never wrote back. Zen, if you're out there and read this \par again,\par by all means please write back, I'd love to hear from you.)\par \par \par On a serious note, if anyone out there feels like taking a potshot \par at\par writing their own Sailor Moon V episodes, just drop me a line at the \par below\par e-mail address with a brief summary of your story ideas and I'll \par probably\par let you run with it. A few ground rules however:\par 1) \par 2) No major character goes kaput. If you create an original \par character\par \tab of your own, feel free to bury that char at your leisure. Just\par \tab don't have any of mine start pushing up daisies.\par 3) Go easy on the blood. Granted Ami likes blood, but keep in \par mind her\par \tab feelings on draining people. If they volunteer, feel free to drink\par \tab up but not to any damaging excess.\par 4) Just make sure you let your readers know that while your \par episode is\par \tab based on characters and events that take place in my series, it\par \tab is not part of my series. Call it a parody of a parody, if you\par \tab will, but don't call it Sailor Moon V. (I'm not a lawyer, but a\par \tab simple, quick-and-dirty disclaimer somewhere will work for me.)\par 5) Rule 5? Simple: Take all the plotlines you can find about \par Sailor\par \tab Moon, dump them in a blender, puree them until you get all of the\par \tab lumps out, pour into a small air-tight can, screw the lid on,\par \tab shake well, and serve with confidence that you've just written a\par \tab damn good piece of fanfiction. (Whether that is true or not is\par \tab up to the critics, but having an attitude sure helps your ego.)\par 6) I'm kinda upset I actually have to add this one. If you're out \par there\par and like my work, by all means post it in a public place for \par others\par to read and enjoy. Just make sure you credit *me* as writing \par the\par original SMV story instead of yourself. Already had to smack\par someone around on FanFiction.net for trying to post a chunk \par of SMV\par and pass it off as their work (and a big thank-you to those \par of who\par you who took the time to contact me about this incident).\par \par \par I have also been considering the idea of making a second series \par once I\par get this first one taken care of, whenever that may be. It'd be called\par Sailor Moon V * The Negaverse Chronicles. Basically, each episode \par would be\par about the life and views of the main denizen characters, starting with \par Raijen\par and working our way down the timeline down to Beryl's ascention to \par power and\par the start of the regular Sailor Moon series. This is only a rough idea \par since\par I'm still sorting out the ideas (delusions?) I keep getting about the \par current\par series. In short, this one is going to take awhile, so don't worry \par about\par seeing anything done. I just thought I'd tell you about it to keep you \par in a\par mild state of suspense for roughly a decade or so. \par For some strange reason, I found myself possessed during one rough \par weekend\par so I sat down on and typed up a lemon episode for SMV. After it was \par written\par and I sat back to wonder just WTF I had done, I started toying with the \par idea\par of making it a separate series (originally Sailor Moon L). I then had \par the idea\par of making it a sub-series of SMV. Since the original series was \par subtitled\par "The Dark Adventures of the Sailor Scouts," I eventually decided on \par naming this\par lemon series "Tales of the Night". Episode #1 has been released some \par time ago\par for public consumption, so if you can't find it, keep looking. As I \par now have\par two SMV series out, please use a caveat in the subject line when you're \par sending\par e-mail to me or any of the web page maintainers so we can get a clear \par idea of\par which series you're talking about (ie: SMV*DA for Dark Adventures and \par SMV*TN\par for Tales of the Night).\par \par \par It has been made aware to me that there is a group called the Psi-Corp \par on the\par television show "Babylon 5". I have never seen the show and any \par similiarities\par between Sailor Moon V and Babylon 5 are purely and entirely \par coincidential. It\par has also been made aware to me that another Sailor Moon fanfiction \par series makes\par use of the concept of 'extradimensional pockets' for the Sailor Scouts. \par Again,\par any similiarities between Sailor Moon V and that series (I don't know \par the name\par of it) is purely and entirely conincidential.\par \par That should cover it, I hope. If anyone has any suggestions, \par questions, \par flames, whatever, you can send it to my e-mail address at:\par \par \cf1\ul sailormoonv@hotmail.com \cf0\ulnone -or- \cf1\ul smvhq@yahoo.com \cf0\ulnone\par \par For those of you with Yahoo! Instant Messenger, I do make use of it \par whenever\par I've got my fat butt parked in front of the computer (the one that's \par connected\par to the Internet via high-speed cable, that is). So if you have that \par service\par as well (why, yes, I do Yahoo!), feel free to harass me (my ID is \par smvhq) if\par you manage to find me. I also make use of MSN Instant Messenger, so \par you can\par harass me that way if you wish as well (\cf1\ul sailormoonv@hotmail.com \cf0\ulnone .... \par duh).\par \par Well, it's the middle of June, and I'm trying to figure out just how I \par was\par able to "misplace" about six months of time (which was apparently the \par last\par time I sat down at my keyboard and pulled up SMV*DA #7 to work on). I \par just\par signed a new contract with a company called CSC to (continue) working \par up in\par Reston, Virginia for the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA). \par I'm\par sorry to say that as a result of this job (which started back in \par October of\par 2001 and could easily explain my absence) I don't get out much, let \par alone\par get oodles of free time to write, but as you can see I've managed to \par carve\par out a little niche of time for myself (usually 3am-5am... yes, I work \par nights)\par which can be put to good use. And as soon as July gets here, I'll \par probably\par be in a better position to be writing more often. So keep your spirits \par up,\par I'm still working on it. Honest.\par \par \par Special thanks to:\par \par Hayden (\cf1\ul littlevixen10@hotmail.com \cf0\ulnone ) for being there when I needed to \par pick up\par a few pieces of my mind that had fallen off, patching the occasional \par wound\par that popped up, and generally being there for me when I needed a \par friend.\par Tamex Skyblade (\cf1\ul jenadelaney@hotmail.com \cf0\ulnone ) for not only putting up with \par me\par babbling about Sailor Moon since Oct '95, but for keeping me from \par going\par overboard when it came to writing certain scenes. (Lady Skyblade \par became\par married May 13th 2000 and we all wish her the best.)\par Luna (\cf1\ul echo5a@deskmedia.com \cf0\ulnone ) for being gracious enough to put my stories \par on\par her web page (www.moonfics.com) and for a being really cool kitten to \par know.\par (Luna, in my personal opinion, is a wonderful but extremely shy \par individual\par who could use a few good friends and Internet pen-pals. If you want \par to\par start up a conversation just drop her a line and let me take the \par brunt of\par her mood for soliciting new friends for her.)\par Tim Nolan (\cf1\ul nomad@cyberverse.com \cf0\ulnone ) for being another wickedly cool Sailor \par Moon\par author to bounce ideas off of in IRC and for sending me those anime \par tapes to\par satisfy my craving for fresh anime as well to use as a source of new \par ideas.\par Jason Hatter (who switched email addys on me) for also being kind \par enough to\par put my stories on his web site (which I have yet to remember where I \par wrote\par the new info down).\par Greenbeans (\cf1\ul gbeans@kfalls.net \cf0\ulnone ) for being the moderator of a Sailor Moon \par fanfic\par author discussion forum and hence probably being the only sane one of \par the\par group (although there are now quite a number of us trying to corrupt \par her\par into seeing things our way).\par The various personae at Glass Dragon (telnet dragon.gamewyrm.com, port \par 4000)\par and Asylum (telnet premis.lod.com:4242) for putting up with my \par pestering\par everyone about wanting to read my works, my occasional mud-wide \par venting of\par my frustration and/or temper, or in the case of a certain Elder \par Goddess,\par just pestering her, period. (Thanks for being such an easy target, \par Menolly)\par And last, but never least, a HUGE thank-you goes to Takeuchi Naoko for \par creating\par Sailor Moon in the first place.\par \par \par \tab\tab\tab\tab\tab\tab Troy "Silver" Stanton\par 14 June 2002\par \par \par \tab\tab\tab\tab\tab\tab \par (Scene from a distant future episode)\par \par Venus: Hey, I just thought of something.\par Mars: Oh, great...\par Venus: We're attached to the same hardpoints used by bombs, right?\par Mercury: Most likely.\par Venus: And these gliders are going to be air-dropped, right?\par Mars: Don't remind me.\par Mercury: That was the general plan, yes.\par Venus: So does this mean I'm really going to be a blonde bombshell?\par Mars: .....\par Mercury: \par \par \pard\f2\par }
