I'm afraid this page is in rather sad shape. It seems I spend all my available web editing time working on either my cake page or my parrot page (which get the most web traffic), and the others have sufferred for it. Please visit those pages too.

Favorite Books and Authors
- Jasper Fforde is the author of a fabulous cross genre series of books starring feisty female Literary Detective Thursday Next. Start with the first book, The Eyre Affair, and continue Thursday's adventures in Lost in a Good Book and the upcoming The Well of Lost Plots (available in the UK in July, and in the US next year).
When asked to describe his first book in one sentence, Jasper replied:
The Eyre Affair is a literary detective thriller with romantic overtones, mad inventor uncles, aunts trapped in Wordsworth poems, global multinationals, scheming evildoers, an excursion inside the novel of Jane Eyre, dodos, knight-errant-time-travelling fathers and the answer to the eternal question: "Who really wrote Shakespeare's plays?
I've exchanged a few emails with Jasper, and met him at a reading/booksigning in Dayton this April. I can tell you that as well as writing highly amusing books, he is very entertaining in person, and a very nice guy. I have photos of Jasper talking, and of myself and my friend Phil with him, taken in Dayton. The grey stuffed dodo is mine and the small brown one I made as a gift for Jasper (he's named it Alan). Once you've read the books, spend a few hours checking out all the fun content on Jasper's website, and come visit the Fforde Fforum--the bulletin board/chat section where I'm a regular. The fforumites are (in Jasper's words) all quite mad, and hillariously funny.
