Who are we?

Harmony orchestra's, music and musically talented/interested youngsters have been part of the community tradition in Taarnby, Denmark since the 1950's. FUT's objective, is to both strengthen and to encourage this important aspect of the Taarnby residents cultural heritage by supporting Taarnby's Youth Harmony Orchestra in any way possible to ensure it's present and future ability to thrive and grow.
In order to do this, we concerntrate our main effort on ensuring that the young members of the orchestra feel that their interest in the orchestra is something that is worth nourishing and that the efforts they put into it receive both positive results and acclamation.

"FUT" has a good, close working relationship with Taarnby Kommunes Music School, through which the orchestra members receive their tuition, and thereby of course, both the individual instructors and orchestra leader - Paul Holford, an earlier "Black Dyke Mills Band" cornetist.

An Association was formed at the same time the orchestra was born in 1995 and was origionally called "Taarnby School Orchestra Association". Two years later a support association was formed ("Support Association for Harmony Orchestra's in Taarnby", or "S.H.O.T"). These two associations were fusioned in October 1998 to form "FUT" - "Forening for Ungdomsharmoniorkestre i Taarnby"

We are seven members on the elected comitee of "FUT". These are as follows:
