on the Mount Carmel is...

a Carmel "par excellence"

Carmel was born here on this mountain filled with memories of the Prophet Elijah.

Here, through a great miracle, Elijah glorified the God of Israel and proclaimed the vanity and nothingness of idols.

Here again, he saw that his prayer was graciously answered as a rain cloud, small as a man's hand, appeared and rose in prayer toward heaven.
