Max's Instrumental Music
Max's instrumental music is divided
into several categories. The first category lists music written
for specific instruments for performance in concert or recital.
The first category includes the following compositions:
- "Concerto in One Movement"
for piano and orchestra
- "Dragonflies" (a study
for piano)
- "Fantasia on the song Weave
" - for Flute, Violin, and Keyboard
- "Five Pictures for the
Pianoforte" - 1. Prelude, 2. Chorale, 3. Marche,
4. Song, and 5. Folk Danse.
- "Ghost Dance Ballet" - for Flute, Electric Piano
or Synthesizer, Drums and Percussion. Written especially for
the musical U. Sam & Co. See Musicals
- "Music for String Orchestra,
Timpani, and Harp"
- "Overture on a Hill Tune"
- Written especially for the musical He's Gone Away.
- "Prelude" - originally
written for piano by Dimitri Schostakovitch, Opus 34, No. 24,
Max has scored the piano piece for full symphony orchestra.
- "Sinfonietta" (in
three movements) for symphony orchestra. Performances by the
St.Louis Little Symphony.
- String Quartet No. 1
- "Three Dances for Woodwind
Quintet" - for Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Horn in F, and Bassoon
- "Two Pictures for Piano"
- 1. Prelude, and Tableaux-Romantic
The second category lists music
composed, and/or arranged, as background music for specific "media
productions." This list includes the following scores:
- "America the Beautiful"
- for the Monsanto Exhibit Preview Presentation at Disneyworld
in Orlando, Florida
- "Magic Carpet
Around the World" - for the Monsanto Exhibit Preview Presentation
at Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida
- "Paul Revere's Ride"
- A radio music drama for narrator, choir and orchestra based
on the poem by Longfellow. The script adaptation and music were
written by Robert E, Dressler; orchestration by Max Myover.
- "The Door" - an original
motion picture produced by The Hawthorne Players, Ferguson, Missouri
- "The Song of Roland"
- a radio drama produced by the Northwestern University School
School of Speech
- "The Touch of the Craftsman"
- a motion picture for Sears, Roebuck & Company
- "Together" - a slide
film presentation for Concordia Films, St. Louis, MO.
