Molly becomes a slave, a hired thug for the artificial intelligence, Wintermute, just like Case. She lived life as a prostitute, and had some big paying clients like business men and senators. The "organization" for whom she worked for installed a "cut-out" chip which allowed Molly to blank out any sexual experience she might have had:"'cause once they plant the cut-out chip, it seems like free money. Wake up sore, sometimes, but that's it. Renting the goods, is all. you aren't in, when it's all happening. House has software for whatever a customer wants to pay for..."

The people who ran her prostitute life jacked up her central nervous system and had blades installed in her fingertips. She needed her nerves sharp and quick to accompany her scapel-sharp retracting blade tips. The cut-out chip began to fail, and Molly soon realized that her "employers" were using her to fulfill sadistic fantasies. "Surgeons went way in, that trip. Tricky. They must have disturbed the cut-out chip. I came up. I was into this routine with a customer...Senator, he was. Knew his fat face right away. We were both covered with blood. We weren't alone. She was all...Dead. And that fat prick, he was saying, 'What's wrong. What's wrong?''Cause we weren't finished yet."

Molly left the prostitution scene, but still possessed all her hardware. In addition to a jacked up nervous system with retractable blades under her maroon-colored fingernails, Molly wears sunglass-like lenses which permanently cover her eyes. She can see commands from the inside of those lenses, kind of like the "Terminator."

Molly has software installed in her brain like Case. This is what probably allows for her manipulation by Wintermute. She also has an option of simstim, which allows Case to "ride" inside. Molly is Wintermute's ninja, a femme fatal which possesses lethal weapons and a keen intelligence. But she's a slave as well, Wintermute's indentured servant. Her body modifications have gotten her into a world of hurt.
