The Tools

Some people would like to know the kind of equipment I use to take my pictures. The cameras and film are listed below

For the digital part I use an old HP Officejet to scan in the pictures and use PictureWindow for the tweaking. Picture Window has not as many options as Photoshop but it has all you need and it's much cheaper. The panoramas are glued together using PhotoVista from LivePicture. Apart from some annoying things such as having to crop all images to the same format, it works pretty well.

    Adjust your monitor

    In order to see the the best versions of the pictures, or any images on the web for that matter, take a few seconds to adjust your monitor. You should be able to see all the different shades of grey of the bar below, that it, the blocks are all the same size, make sure you see the difference between black and near-black and white and near-white.
