1974 Pontiac Formula 400
Here is my last project car I started . I will not be able to finish this bad boy any time soon. It is for sale . I've had several 3rd gen F body cars , this is my first 2nd Gen . Its a very high option car lacking only a few options . 1974 Pontiac Formula 400 .This is a straight old car with no rust , original engine (400) and transmission (400). Car had Deluxe sport seats new , power windows and door locks which work,Rear Defrost, air conditioning (compressor gone but hoses and assembly still there) and automatic (400 transmission) . Has all badges intact and ram air hood . Car was Factory yellow at one time , now has an Old dark blue paint job. Interior is there but needs redone . The head liner is good and door panels and back seat are great . I yanked the carpet and the two front seats need recovered. The dash pad is rotted in one spot about 6 inch wide. Car is solid undeneath, no rust and the floorboards and trunk are great , rust free . The exterior is great as well with the exception of the passenger door which is dented the length of it in the center . This would be a great car to put a little money in and enjoy or to completely restore. I have spent and have reciepts for over $2000 in work I have done . The transmission has been recently rebuilt stock by a reputable transmission shop . I had a new cam and lifters installed and ball joints . The car has brand new tires all the way around and a new carburator. The original Carb is in the car , and works. The ram air breather is missing. There are aluminum slot wheels on the car now. I am asking $2500 for this car. I have over $3500 invested . Its a great car and would make some one with a little more time than me happy. I will drive this baby up to 100 miles to deliver. I want to trade for a nice archtop guitar such as vintage Gibson es-175 , any year L-4 , tal farlow or heritage johnny smith or golden eagle Guild or custom shop archtops , 6 or 7 string. I love the 2nd gen cars and more often then not see nice ones turned into nothing more than derby or stock cars here in the south . Sickening.
