The
Phonolites represented Greece in the International Festival of
University Choirs EURO CAROL CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL in Bilbao,
Bizkaia, Spain on December 9, 2001. The festival was organized
by the Euro Info Centre of Bizkaia (EUROBIZKAIA). Twelve
university choirs from twelve Euro member countries have met
and celebrated the inauguration of the Euro. Each choir sung
Christmas carols from their countries and at the grand finale
altogether on stage the rounded off the festival singing the
Basque song "Mesias sarritan" and the "Ode an
die Freude" by Ludwig van Beethoven, which is the
European anthem.
