XG/GS MIDI Jukebox 2.4 for Windows 3.1

One of the things that has always upset me about Windows MIDI jukeboxes is that:

This code solves all those problems. Simply open any file in a directory and it will play all songs in that directory. It also allows Random Play, Auto Pause, Continuous Play, Repeat Current Track and has extra display information. XG/GS Midi Jukebox will also send the currently playing file to VBSYX or your favourite sequencer. This version is Shareware. It is bundled with VBSYX. Buy one program, the other is FREE. Alternatively, Jukebox can now be purchased unbundled. Try it - you won't get rid of it! Version 2.2 of the program supports ALL sound cards/sound modules. Of course, XG/GS modules have extra facilities available to them.

Version 2.3 includes the ability to set Master Volume levels for each MIDI file and to remember these settings on an individual file basis. Yes, no longer will a MIDI file keep on blasting your ears off. Also included is the ability to play multiple directories in a row or via random play. The possibilities are endless!

XG/GS MIDI Jukebox is written in Visual Basic 3. It requires the VB run time time library VBRUN300.DLL. You can download it if you do not have a copy of this module in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.

Some features of the jukebox require the ability to send MIDI messages to your sound card while the MID file is playing. This is called having a multi client MIDI driver. If your sound card driver does not support multiple clients, you can download Shareware/Freeware off my MIDI Utilities page which will give you this functionality.

Random Patch Generator
MIDI "Volume Limiter" and Multi-Directory Player

Yamaha XG and Roland GS sound modules contain thousands of weird and wonderful sounds. The trick is finding them! The Random Patch Generator allows you to generate random voice effects, on a track by track basis, for such effects as Reverb, Chorus, Delay, Pan, Instrument/Bank Switch, Note Attack, Note Decay etc.

You control the random limits, which parameters to change and which parts to affect. I do the rest. Sit back and be amazed at the sound coming out your sound module!

Even better, the generated System Exclusive messages (SYSEX) can be saved and used by you in your own MIDI files.

Version 2.2 includes extra XG/GS features such as system wide Reverb and Chorus settings, support for Portamento PLUS basic support for ALL sound modules and user tailorable options.

Version 2.3 also includes support for individual MID file Master Volume Settings and the ability to play random selections from multiple, selected directories.

The Random Patch Generator is part of the XG/GS MIDI Jukebox. Other jukebox features include:

Help yourself. Mail me if you any suggestions for improvement. Although this program is shareware it is fully functional so you can see if you really like it enough to make my day :)
