Badinerie
J.S.Bach's 2nd suite for orchestra (BWV 1067) was composed in Köthen between 1718 and 1722. The original manuscript is lost, but a later version notated in Leipzig survived. The score was sequenced from a Hungarian Study Score (EMB Study Scores: J.S.Bach Suite No.2, edited by István Máriássy, Editio Musica Budapest). The tempo of the work follows the tempo of the suite performed by the Orchestra of the Budapest Philharmonic Society for a record in the '70s. (I feel important to mention this, because I heard a different record of the Ouverture and it was much faster.)

Badinerie from Suite No. 2 in B Minor This was performed in the late 1730s in Leipzig but like the third Suite, may have been revised from a version composed in 1721 while Bach was working in C=F6then. It is a sparkling piece for flute and strings.

Composed by J.S. Bach Bach was arguably the pinnacle of the Baroque period. Pachelbel, Vivaldi and Buxtehude are only three of many distinguished influences on him, though during his lifetime, he was probably better known as a performer. He was born in 1685 in Eisenach and died in 1750 in Leipzig. (badinerie.mid)
