4. Encouraging all dancers to join the Association
Many dancers continue to dance in Toronto without being members of the Association. Enriching the life of the Association makes membership more attractive. Priority should be placed on increasing membership to generate revenue, rather than on fee increases or fund-raising.
Recommendations:
1. Develop a pamphlet identifying the benefits of membership. Increase the profile of the Toronto Association and RSCDS activities, and identify their value and need of support.
2. Have Executive members or a committee of volunteers visit social groups to promote benefits of Association membership.
3. Increase the difference between member and non-member prices for all Association activities; sell memberships at the door.
4. Develop additional incentives for membership; e.g. a permanent badge bearing the Association logo as well as the member's name.
5. Send the September newsletter to former members along with an application form.
