S.A. Symphony Society cancels concert series featuring Duncan

The Symphony Society of San Antonio has canceled its opening Pops series concerts with Broadway star Sandy Duncan.

The concerts were scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The decision came a week after the San Antonio Symphony board decided to cancel the opening concerts of the organization's 60th season due to a financial crisis that has put the organization at least $1.5 million in debt.

The Symphony Society hopes to reschedule the Duncan concerts for later in the season, and has asked subscribers to hold onto their tickets until a decision has been made and they've been notified.

There has not been an announcement regarding the next concerts for the symphony, scheduled Oct. 2 and 3.
