Hey, I just received a steal string version this weekend. I hope to install a pickup and use this as a jazz guitar. So far I'm happy with the instrument. It's perfect for blues.

Enjoyable review of the backpacker guitar.
I'm still in two minds whether to get one, though ;-)

Great site. It is about impossible to play a backpacker without a strap, but you don't have to put it over your shoulder. Checkout my web page at http://www.dnaco.net/~mnbaker/backpacker.html

Hey nice site. I was the guy who posted the info about the R.S. tie clip mic on rec.music.acoustic.guitar way back. Glad to see it on your site.
I found the url on a piece of paper and thought I'd visit again.
I've had my BP now for 4 years, still goin strong. It's been on my mountain bike camping, Indonesia for business and I still use it for home recording.
Cheers!

Just ordered me a backpacker to keep me fingers loose while I''m on the road. Could this be the end of my playing days on my '75 Strat? Kind of doubt it, but maybe I've mellowed into more of an acoustic-type as I get better. Maybe Richie Blackmore styl
riffs don't excite me anymore. Wonder what a backpacker sounds like with a slide and Ry Cooder-type tunings! See ya!
