Elton House

Reviews:

- Leslie Patterson: Even though Jane Austen hated Bath, this house was so Georgian that I felt I might bump into her around any corner. Children (and adults) will love peaking their heads out of every one of its many windows. The house is located only a few steps from the Abbey, the Roman Bath, and the Pump Room. Being close enough to the Abbey to hear evensong is fantastic, and during our stay in October the pub next door (The Crystal Palace) was not at all noisy. Avoid Sally Lunn's for food, but check out Tilley's. Be sure to read the Landmark information on the lady responsible for preserving the house--Philippa Savery. Her obituary in the Times made her seem like an inspiration and an eccentric.
