Manor Farm

The address is a little misleading as the house is (approx.) 2 miles North of Pulham Market, situated in, what appears to be, the middle of nowhere so strong legs or a car are an absolute requirement. The house is late Elizabethan with many original features including Solid oak partitioning, large fireplaces and beautifully tiled flooring. The kitchen is housed in the ‘newer’ part of the building - built c.1800 - and still has the old original bread ovens & washing facilities. Fortunately for us, here in the 21st century we can use the dishwasher and washing machine that can be found in the large pantry just off the kitchen. N.B. The dishwasher was not mentioned in the details I received from LT but was a very nice surprise! One point to be aware of is that the two first floor bathrooms are, Rather inconveniently, situated at one end of the building (above the kitchen) and only one bedroom (a single room) has direct access to both bathrooms. The residents of the remaining double, two twin and single rooms all have To descend one spiral staircase at the opposite end of the building, Traverse the (almost) length of the house and then ascend another, even narrower, spiral staircase from the kitchen. I certainly wouldn’t recommend this house to anyone who is unsteady on their feet or who has bladder/stomach problems. Not a lot to do in the surrounding area if you don’t like Commercialised tourist attractions, walking, east coast seaside resorts or windmills. Failing that, take along a group of good friends, many bottles of wine, lots of good food and enjoy your immediate surroundings.
