- Linda McGowan: One of the best ever for two people.One of the truly great Landmark experiences is sitting outside under the collonade with a glass of something good and your feet on the large leather pig, admiring the superb view; even on a freezing Yorkshire summer evening. I marvel at the ingenuity and craftwork involved in fitting everything so well (beds, particularly) into unlikely spaces. You certainly need a car, and good weather helps, but there's loads of good walking, sea and beaches and great friendly towns and villages to visit. Alan Ayckbourn's theatre at Scarborough is worth the trip alone, and you'll think several times about how to take that leather pig home with you without anybody noticing.
