GENERAL STUFF
Meet Minako (Mee-nah-koh). Yes, she is a ditz, but this playful girl is also the original sailor senshi. She began in Britain (Upper-Tokyo in the manga) and went under the alias of "Sailor V" (セーラーV). She first appeared in "The Last Sailor Warrior, Venus Comes" ("Sailor V Makes the Scene") and later met up with Sailormoon as Sailorvenus (セーラーヴィーナス) after she saved the other Sailor Soldiers from danger. She goes to Shibakouen Junior High (Grass Valley Junior High) but later enrolls in Juuban High School. She's outgoing and cheerful throughout, but she degenerates into ultra-flakey pretty soon after the end of the first season. (Too soon, in my opinion. ^^;) Minako looks a lot like Sailormoon and is the leader of the senshi since Sailormoon was found to be the princess. Artemis is her gaurdian cat and the one who discovered her. The rest of the Inners were all found by Luna. As Sailorvenus, her attacks are somewhat destructive, though not like Mars's or Jupiter's, and are based on metal and beauty. In the manga, Sailorvenus and Sailormars sort of team up to pull off lots of crazy stunts, but the anime writes her off as just another addition to the Sailor Team. Minako has a sizable ego, which gets totally deflated by a kindergardner, by the way ^^. She always wears a big red bow in her hair because a boy she liked told her she looked cute with it. He later turned out to be an evil demon. Go figure. ^^;;
MY OPINION
I'm not a big Minako fan but she kind of just bubbles over and you can't help it. =^^= I kind of liked her better in the earlier season when she was more serious, but her antics in Stars had me rolling on the floor just the same. She's a hoot, but there's nothing much to her that you couldn't get from Usagi; however, the manga Minako is much more hillarious with herself and Rei getting into so much trouble! Minako's not beautiful like Mars or pretty like Jupiter; she's just plain cute. So is her attitude. I'd hate to burst her so easily-deflated bubble, but that big red bow with a screaming orange fuku is just plain an eyesore! >.< Her manga suit was so much better! All gold was not bad at all. Her shoes aren't as cool as Mars' since they're flaming orange, low platform heels with some strange ankle-braclet. Mars' classic 80s stilletos are much cooler. Overall, Minako is a fun, well-rounded, enjoyable character. Too bad she just gets shafted in the anime.
