Really enjoyed your midis. Also found your info on voicing MIDIS (Organ Builder) very interesting and useful - never thought of pitching a second voice anything other than an octave or two higher or lower . . . Do you know the fractal program Tierazon? I never thought I'd find anything better than FRACTINT, but this one is. Not sure if its still on the Web - if not I could email the zip file as an attachment. It produces .BMP files in 32 bit colour (16 million colours or whatever) and any size (I have one over a metre wide on my wall printed from this prog.) Downloaded almost all of your MIDIS to have a good listen at home - can't just now 'cos I'm at work. Cheers, Murray Simmonds Senior Lecturer in Psychology University of Canterbury, Christchurch New Zealand

When I was young my Mum bought a record called "The Wonderful Belgian Band Organ" which featured songs like "Give My Regards To Broadway" and "When You Wore A Tulip." Very early-1900s. I visited Vienna in 1984 and there were automatic music machines set up outside the palace, playing. I figured that this "Belgian band organ" was more on the lines of these than a theatre organ. I listened to the record again a couple days ago, and I'm looking for more information on these machines.

Hi - nice site. Although I must admit that the layered sequences pertaining to pipe organs were a little unconvincing. While drastically better than the organ midi patch, some of the patches used in the layered versions did not quite seem to work right. The pan flute for one, has entirely too much chiff at the begining of its speech to sound like a pipe organ stop. But nice job over all. I will be back to visit again.

OUTSTANDING!

Greetings and salutations! I am a semi-retired church and theater organist who has been looking for the "jig" fugue in print ever since I lost my copy in a move some ten years ago. 'Twill be an easy matter to reconstruct the printed page from your MIDI file and blow the congregation away in a few weeks. Did this one about 15 years ago on a Robert Morton Theater organ in Austin, Texas and was greeted with total silence from the audience...for about fifteen seconds...(Shellshock, I guess!)... then THREE standing ovations and my tip jar (This was located in a pizza joint with silent movies, etc.) proceeded to overfloweth copiously! Will have to practice diligently again, that piece eludes you easily unless you have a photographic memory, as apparently Ol' V.F did. By the way, was your concert experience at the Fillmore East in N.Y.? That's where I saw him about 30 years ago.
