When it is founded at the beginning of 1848 as a Philarmonic Society, the band is directed by M°. Francesco Bianchi, first Clarinet of Riccardi Theatre and of Santa Maria Maggiore Chapel in Bergamo.
Between 1861 and 1865 it joins District of Clusone Battalion of the National Guard, with whom it takes part, from January till April 1862, in the military campaign in Marche and Umbria.
From 1891 to 1910, when they merge in a single formation, two are the bands which antagonistically work in Clusone: one, expression of the Catholic Movement, the other of the Liberal Movement.
During the years 1915-1918, 1927-1930 and 1936-1945 the band is not operative, but immediately after the war it resumes activity and in 1970, directed by M°. Rocco Giudici, it performs its first recording: Clusone.
A significant qualitative improvement takes place during the 80ies, when, under the guidance of M°. Andrea Legrenzi, the staff - but musical executions above all - become in several occasions remarkable.
The most important work is "Sorgente Sonora", a concerto for band and improvising soloists, conceived and written by Roman musician Eugenio Colombo, and realized for Clusone Jazz in 1988 ( recording available).
In 1993 our band, which since the end of the Second World War is dedicated to Giovanni Legrenzi, wins Brescia National Contest, lead by M°. Angelo Benzoni who undertook conduction in 1989.
In 1998, to celebrate the 150th anniversary since foundation, it has recorded its third work: the Compact Disc Clusone 1848-1998.
Over these years, besides having performed in several Italian towns, our band has had the occasion to be appreciated in Switzerland, France, Netherlands, and some of our recordings have been broadcast by RAI (RadioUno and RadioTre) and by Austrian national broadcaster ORF.
