Antonio
Castagna
has got his diploma as master
of piano at the Istituto Musicale Pareggiato "G.Braga" in
Teramo and, at the same time, started University studies in
Foreign Languages specializing in German Language and
Literature.After the diploma he specialized with Master
Franco Medori and,later,with Master Carlo Zecchi.
Quite soon he started his concert career both as a soloist
and in duet with Master Marco Renzi, also giving his
contribution as music critic to the Società dei
Concerti "Primo Riccitelli" and to the newspaper " Il
Messaggero".
In 1986 he realized , with Nino Di Simone (a painter from
Castelli) , a performance of " music and painting" on "
Pictures in an exhibition" by M. Mussorgsky, whose "debut"
coincided with the opening of the centre of the
Società dei Concerti "Primo Riccitelli" in Teramo
with the extraordinary participation of Master Ernesto
Treccani. The performance, that toured through many italian
and foreign towns, has received enthusiastic criticism
everywhere , and has been reviewed by important publications
of art and culture.
Master Antonio Castagna has given concerts and recitals in
Italy and abroad (Rheingau,Buehlertann, Frankfurt - Germany
; Stockolm - Sweden ; Liegi - Belgium ; Amsterdam - Holland
; Abu Dhabi - EAU etc. ) as a soloist and in chamber
formations for very important cultural institutions. He has
often participated in radio and television programmes (RAI)
as a soloist.

Illustrata n.1/1987) he has been one of the first to
conceive and realize many of the musical reviews that still
take place in Italia, attending to their artistic direction
( Rassegna di Primavera", " Pomeriggi Musicali", " Progetto
Musica-Scuola", organized by the Società dei Concerti
"P.Riccitelli" in Teramo; " Progetto Braga '95" and "
Progetto Brga '96" organized by the Istituto Braga and
financed by the Fundation TERCAS-Teramo, etc.) . Since 1995
he has been artistic director of the " Serate al Kursaal"
organized by Amministrazione Comunale of Giulianova.
He has been permanent teacher of Main Piano since 1982 at
the Istituto Braga in Teramo where ha also taught Chamber
Music.
In 1994 he held a course of specialization in Piano at the
Accademia Musicale "W.A.Mozart". Since 1991 he has been
deputy headmaster of the Istituto Braga in Teramo and member
of the board of directors.He has just been appointed
Director of the Istituto Musicale Pareggiato "G. Braga"
