Vannia Ibargüen | ||||||||||||||||
Ballet and Contemporary Dancer, choreographer and teacher, she is part of Danzul – Contemporary Dance Group, and Ballet Municipal de Lima. She studied at the Lucy Telge Ballet Studio, and then at the Contemporary Dance Program in the University of Lima, when obtains her Bachelor and currently teaches dance classes. In 2003 participated in the XIII International Ballet Festival in Trujillo, being Semifinalist. In 2003 was awarded by UNESCO with the scholarship Unesco-Aschberg to study at the Instituto Superior de Arte de La Habana - Cuba, where she took Contemporary Dance and Choreographic Composition Classes. There, Vannia participated at the Contest “Elsinor 2004” and wins the Best Female Interpretation award with the piece “Chiquita”. She performed the same piece at the Festival “Solamente Solos” in Holguin and “Danza en Paisajes Urbanos” in La Habana Vieja, Cuba. In January 2005 got the Best Dancer Award at “Danza Al Mar” Festival, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the First Place in Choreography and Gold Medal for Best Interpretation in the Professional Category.
In addition, she is journalist in the electronic magazineDanzaHoy, a e-magazine aim to inform to the hispanic community about the world main activities in the dance field. |
