First and foremost, my dearest parents, for allowing me to learn the violin!! I have no words to express the deep appreciation for their gift of music, in both ways - genetics (thru their love of music) and the subsequent "heavy investment" in my music lessons, and their tireless care and encouragements for me for all my music occasions, through all these many many years of rigorous, stressful and yet memorable music training, practice, competitions, exams and performances.......
(Mama passed away on 7th Jan 2004. I thank her from deep in my heart.)
My younger sister Yih Ping who had "tolerated" my noise-making sessions (practising violin at home) for 15 years......
My violin teachers, Mr Wong Nyen Chong who was my first teacher and who nurtured my interests in music and Mr Jiri Heger, my main teacher who inspired me and encouraged me for all his memorable lessons......
Raffles Junior College principal and teachers who had approved me for my absence from school for 6 weeks to join AYO, with special thanks to my civics tutor Mr Chua Kah Sheng......
My RJC class - 2SO3I (Class of 1993) - with special thanks to my very helpful class rep Suzanna Lim, who helped me compile all the lecture and tutorial notes during my absence......
Singapore Youth Orchestra conductors, tutors and friends who had inculcated in me the love of orchestra-playing and the memorable 5 years of music-making with all of you in Victoria Concert Hall.....
All my good friends, and well-wishers for AYO.....
