| The boys are enrolled in second and fourth grades at a small, private, Christian school on the east side of Louisville. We think the small classes have really eased their transition into the new environment, and the uneasiness of knowing that even where we are now (i.e. the apartment) is not permanent. |
|
In mid-October, we packed up and moved back to Kentucky. Wayne got a job at Humana in Louisville, so it seemed like the right thing to do. As much as we love the people we have come to know in Texas, we have wanted to be closer to family in this part of the world for a long time. We have settled temporarily in a nice, big, three-bedroom apartment in a complex on the east side of Louisville. We are looking for more permanent quarters, so stay posted for further developments. |

So much has happened in our family this year!
Wayne's sister graduated from college in December and started her new job in January. Maria came to Kentucky to visit her dad in February.
April featured the end of the soccer season and playoffs for Michael's team.
May saw Maria's sister become a mother, followed quickly by becoming a homeowner. In July, Maria returned for another stint in the Bluegrass, while Wayne's dad got a contract gig in Houston, which made for perfect babysitting arrangements.
August brought the start of school for the boys.
September brought an employment interview, offer, and acceptance, which brought about a whirlwind of activity.
The movers packed up our things in Plano on Saturday, October 9, and moved them into the Louisville apartment on a record-rainy October 18.
Then, in early November, Wayne's brother moves from his condo to an actual house, resulting in twin Thanksgiving feasts for 8-10 people each at the two "new" houses in Louisville. |

We are not certain yet that we have found our church home, but we have attended only one church in Louisville. It's pretty big.
