Partizansk - Climate

The weather station on the territory of Partizansk was established in 1932.

Solar Radiation

Southern location of the town strongly influences its climate. In a year the town and its suburbs are getting 115-120 kcal/cm2 (756-789 kcal/sq in) of solar heat. The peak of the solar radiation is in winter. In summer time significant cloudness and fogs reduce the amount of radiation.

Atmosphere Circulation and Precipitation

The uneven precipitation can be explained with monsoon circulation of aerial masses. During winter northern and north-western winds are prevailing (winter monsoon). They bring cold, dry, and sunny weather. In summer eastern ans south-eastern winds are prevailing. The monsoon in June brings cold air, in July and August it brings warm air. Summer monsoon causes abundant rains. On the territory of the town and its suburbs typhoons occur sometimes.

Average annual precipitation is 770-800 mm (30-31 inches). The most precipitation is in July and August (70% of annual precipitation on average). Winter precipitation is 10% of average annual amount. The most amount of cloudy days is in June.

Temperature

Average temperature in August is +20°C (48°F) (max temperature is +36.6°C (97.9°F)), average temperature in January is -14°C (7°F) (min temperature is -30°C (-22°F)). The temperature conditions of this territory are similar to south-western Ukraine and Northern Caucasus.

Seasons

Winter lasts for 3-3.5 months. In winter mild frost, clear, and sunny weather prevails. First snow appears in the beginning of November. Snow blanket is small and unstable.

Spring lasts for 2-3 months. Light frosts may occur until the 20s of April.

Summer is warm and humid. Short-term rains start from the second part of May. Summer climate creates good conditions for fruit and vegetable, melons and gourds cultivation, as well for apiculture and stock-raising development.

Fall is warm, dry, clear, and calm. In September the temperature does not fall below +10°C (50°F). Leaves start falling from the beginning of October. First frosts occur in the third ten-day period of October.
