Partizansk Education and Culture

Partizansk is a town with a developed level of education and culture. The educational institutions include Primorsky College of Mines, Medical College, three vocational technical schools, miners' educational school. There are total of 1,548 young people studying in these institutions. Primorsky College of Mines is the oldest mine educational institution in the Far East. It was founded in 1932. This college is well-equipped, there are dozens of rooms, classrooms, laboratories, an underground training ground, workshops, a geological museum, language laboratories, a library with a reading hall, etc.

There are 24 schools with 10,721 students in the town. There are a children music school, an art school, a choreographic school, a center of children works, a young naturalists station, many study groups and clubs.

Adults also have many opportunities for cultural development and leasure. In Partizansk there is a large network of palaces of culture, town and rural clubs, and libraries. The creative amateur groups include the "Khoroshki" choir from the town palace of culture, "Ogonki" (Small Lights) dance group from Uglekamensk, "Elegiya" (Elegy) vocal group from the music school, and are known far beyond the town. "Khoroshki" has a status of the people's choir. Also in the town there are a "Vospominaniye" (Recollection) concert center, "Rodnik" (Spring) literature union, a book-lovers society, literature and music halls. All of them were established by enthusiasts.
