EXPERIENCE
1979 to 1982 - Record Data/Record Title of Connecticut. Searched Land Titles and prepared reports and Title Insurance policies for mortgage lenders. All counties and most towns in Connecticut.1982 to 1985 - Cooper, Fentner and Stokes - Member of Multi-state law firm (Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island and New Hampshire) in charge of Connecticut activities. Hired, trained and supervised a staff of two attorneys, and ten secretaries, paralegals and abstractors. Set up main office in Glastonbury and branch offices in New Haven, New London and Plainfield. Residential and Commercial Real Estate Transactions, Truth in Lending Compliance, Mortgage Banking, Surveys and Land Titles.
1985 to 1988 - Serignese, Petrone, Fentner, Covill and Sward - Member of seven attorney, general practice law firm in East Hartford, with branch offices in Manchester and Hebron. Concentrating in Residential and Commercial Real Estate, Mortgage Banking, Truth in Lending, Land Titles and Title Insurance, Landlord/Tenant, Common Interest Communities. Advised mortgage bankers on Connecticut practice. Established procedures and drafted documents and forms for out of state lenders entering the Connecticut market. Represented Connecticut Association of Land Surveyors on matters related to the Revision of the Code of Standards and was featured speaker at the 1986 Annual Convention on the topic: "The Revised Code of Recommended Standards for Surveys and Maps in the State of Connecticut." Represented national Title Insurance Company in matters related to Connecticut Land Titles and affirmative coverage. Researched and advised on compliance with the State Insurance Commissioner's Ruling on Super Lien Coverage, including developing procedures for searching the records of the Department of Environmental Protection. Tracked Legislation in the 1986 and subsequent sessions of the General Assembly. Spoke at public hearings on behalf of mortgage banker clients and the Connecticut Mortgage Bankers Association on bills concerning Title Insurance, Legal Representation and Mortgage Releases. Represented developers in the creation of Common Interest Communities, including the drafting of Public Offering Statements and related documentation.
1989 to 1990 - Mayo, Gilligan & Zito, 100 Great Meadow Road, Wethersfield, Connecticut. Continued concentration in above fields of practice.
1990 to Present - Solo practitioner in Unionville, Connecticut. Continued concentration in above fields of practice. Currently examine 200+ residential and commercial land titles per year for Connecticut Attorneys Title Insurance Company's Title Services Department, First American Title Insurance Company's Title Commitment and Litigation Guarantee programs and Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company. Served as a delegate from the Connecticut Association of Real Property Professionals on a committee composed of that organization, The Connecticut Town Clerks Association, The State of Connecticut's Chief Documents Administrator and system manufacturers to explore ways to implement and regulate computerized Land Record Indexing in Connecticut. Closed all Connecticut in house refinances and foreclosure sales for Lomas Mortgage Corporation of Dallas, Texas. Settlement Agent (mortgage loans and property sales) for First American Title Insurance Company National Accounts Including Star Enterprise (Texaco), Exxon Corporation, GE Capital Mortgage Services, American Airlines Credit Union etc.
1994 to 1996 - PC Consultant (Remote Staff) in the DOS Forum of America On Line. Provided DOS technical support and system configuration assistance to AOL members.
