Before 1986, all editions of H.W. Jansons History of Art (the standard text used in introductory college art history classes), included 3000 male and no female artists. In the latest version, published in 1991, only 19 women are represented.

We have begun challenging the patterns of oppression that have formed from centuries of biased history. I have no tolerance for the rude coments, intimidation and violence that come from embracing the archaic notion that a person can take their insecurities out on others. These atrocities continue to be played out daily: A comment about a persons weight or color; people with disabilities working for slave wages in workshops; animals getting slaughtered because of egotistical bastards; people complaining about violence, eating disorders and the fashion industry and then going out and continuing the addiction to consumption of mainstream media; young gay and lesbian people opting for suicide over the constant victimization they experience in their communities; and the list continues.
