Freedom of speech in America. Is it only for use by certain groups or is freedom of speech available to all people in America. I believe freedom of speech should be expressed by all groups or single individuals. If we are to have freedom of speech. We shouldn't get upset if little Tommy, who is sitting behind little Joey, prays to budda during quiet time in school. Joey prays to Jesus. Which one should be allowed to pray in school. I say both of them. You may say yeah but budda is a false god. Well to Tommy, Jesus is a false god also. Folks we all want freedom of speech but do we all want others to have freedom of speech. To be truthful most of us believe and want everybody to think like us. When someone comes along who thinks differently than the rest of us, we want to get mad and spew out venom on them when all they are doing is using their freedom of speech. Yall, we gotta realize that dere is a price to be paid for the freedom of expressed speech and dat is simply: Hearing the views and expressions of those of whom we strongly disagree with. Hence we have the Angie and Debbie Winans song, Not Natural as a prime example.

None of the secular world hardly paid any attention to the two girls who each have of the one silkest voices you've ever heard. Then someone heard the song Not Natural. Then an angry group arose and tried again to prevail against God's view on homosexuality, but these girls stood their ground. They would not back down, nor did they regret having expressed their freedom of speech. After watching a sitcom, (Ellen) in which a star actor comes boldly "out of the closet" and admits that she is gay, one of the Winans girls was vexed in her spirit (in fact, Ellen became so agenda based that people lost interest). She then wrote the song Not Natural. In the song she simply stated that the homosexual lifestyle was not natural. It was and is her right to use her freedom of speech just as the porn rappers do when they express graphically thru song what they do in their sexual journeys with women. It is a very negative and sinful influence upon our young people, yet they are allowed to express their views. However, when Debbie and Angie xpressed God's view on homosexuality via song, the gay/lesbian groups became angered, saying "They should not sing a song that expresses a negative view on homosexuality. It will influence others against us (and make people ponder the thought on whether homosexuality is normal behaviour?)".

If a person believes that they are right, what do they have to be afraid of or frantic about??? Debbie and Angie were accused of being homophobic all because they expressed a different view (God's view). Why does one group get extremely angry with someone who doesn't see things the way they do? Why put a negative label on someone, just because they have different views? Why get angry and bitter with hatred just because someone else sees an issue differently from you (could it be that deep down inside you know you are wrong)? My quotation: "The one who talks the loudest and interrupts the most is usually WRONG." Do I have to be like you to get along with you? This should not be yall. We have got to live with each other (though light and dark will never mix). I have a very dear friend who is homosexual. He is a very nice looking young man, age 17. Because I care about him very much, I have told him on several occasions that God has never meant for him to be gay. I have told him that it's not a natural behaviour. He was rejected by his father at a young age and simply has miss-placed affection. The love and affection he never got from his father, he now seeks in another male. No where in animal life do you see two males (or two females for that matter) attempting to mate with each other. Not even in dogs or rabbits which are two of the most copulating machines on the planets. Man is above animal life. We are created in the image of God himself. Yet though my friend and I disagree on this issue (he has been giving it a lot of thought when he gets in bed at night though), we are still friends. Friends should be able to disagree without being disagreeable.There's always gonna be somebody that doesn't see a thing or issue in the same light as you. I can't go around blowing up abortion centers just because I am against abortion. Moreover, I shouldn't be labled as "one of them stupid christians" because I stand up for the rights of the unborn child.

I have noticed that most all groups (no matter how good or degrading they may be) here in America, can "feel free" to express their views. However, when christian groups or individuals express their opinions, all hell breaks loose, from the ACLU (who by the way, was designed to protect the right of speech for all...ha ha ha) down to the media. Whatsup with dat??? I'll tell ya whatsup wit it. There's just something about that name, "Jesus". Mention or discuss the beliefs of buddah or any of the other gods out there and it is not offensive to anyone. But the minute you mention "Jesus" and what he believes, then all of those around you will be embarassed (uncomfortable), ashamed or angry. Some will even get mad enough to fight you. A good biblical example of what I am talking about can be found in Acts 4:1-31. The Sadducees and the high priest were religious but they didn't want to have anything to do with Jesus. They hated Him because of what he stood for...righteousness. One day they caught Peter and John doing another great work in Jesus name. The Sadducees and the high preist wanted to kill Peter and John right then but they wouldn't, because of the possible riot that might take place amongst the people. Take note of what is written in two of the verses: Now when they saw the BOLDNESS of Peter and John, and percieved that they unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and took knowledge of them, that had been with JESUS.
verse14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. verse18 And they called they, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. (that's how it is today. secular media doesn't want to hear what Jesus said or what He thinks) verse19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
verse20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

So I say to you, Angie and Debbie. Continue to speak the things which you have seen and heard by the Spirit of God. Hopefully more christian singers will follow the trail being pioneered using the music platform and take a bold stand on the issues facing the world today, but if not, YOU GO GIRLS. Even if you have to go by yourself. Believe me, there will be many praying for you along the way.
