Telling your family: |

You have found out that you are pregnant. Now comes the fun part, telling your family that you are expecting.
When to tell your family:
If you are excited about your pregnancy, chances are you will tell them immediately after you find out. If you were not expecting this pregnancy, you will probably wait a day or two and then tell. Some women will not tell family members during the first trimester for fear of miscarrying.
The best time to tell family members is after you have found out and are okay with them knowing about the pregnancy.
Creative ways to tell the family:
What if the pregnancy is not planned or a teen pregnancy?
Your family will eventually know that you are pregnant. Whether this be one-nine months down the road, it is your choice. If you tell your family members and they are not happy about it, let that be their problem. It is too late to go back and take away the pregnancy. It's done. They may need time to adjust to the idea of you being pregnant. Give them time and they will usually accept the pregnancy. What else can they do?
If you have not told them yet, maybe you could get someone to be with you when you do tell them. A close friend (that they like), preacher, teacher, other parent, grandparent, or just anyone who may help ease the situation.
