Group therapy

** All therapy groups are run by licensed professionals.

Incest Survivor Group

The decision to heal from incest is a powerful choice. While it is always worth it, healing is rarely easy and being with other survivors is a critical part of the healing process. Joining the WHW Incest Survivor Group is an ideal way to connect with other women who have been abused. Group work is particularly useful for dealing with shame, isolation and secrecy.

Codependency vs. Interdependency

Sometimes it is difficult to recognize the difference between selfishness and self-care. The WHW Codependency vs. Interdependency Group is designed to help women learn how to maintain independence even in the closest relationships. Often, closeness leads to "stuckness" and efforts to change things only lead to more of the same. When women learn to get unstuck in their closest and stickiest relationships, they will begin to have greater clarity, control and calm in every relationship.

Support Groups

Support Groups can help women gain a sense of personal power. By empowerment, we mean helping women begin to direct their own lives, so that they can decide what they want, and find the means to achieve their goals. This also means women in groups learn to take responsibility for their own actions. Our groups are supportive. In groups we show support by validating women's experiences and helping them to recognize their strengths.

Support Groups include,

  • COPING WITH SEPARATION AND DIVORCE;
  • SELF-ESTEEM;
  • SELF-ESTEEM/PRIME TIME;
  • EXPLORING YOUR MARRIAGE and
  • CO-DEPENDENCY.

These Support Groups meet on a weekly basis. The fee is $8 (or $6 for WHW members) per session. If you are interested in joining a Support Group, please call the office. Pre-registration is required.
