Support GroupsSupport Groups can help women gain a sense of personal power. By empowerment, we mean helping women begin to direct their own lives, so that they can decide what they want, and find the means to achieve their goals. This also means women in groups learn to take responsibility for their own actions. Our groups are supportive. In groups we show support by validating women's experiences and helping them to recognize their strengths.Support Groups include,

The fee is $8 (or $6 for WHW members) per session. If you are interested in
joining a Support Group, please call the office.

Individual Counseling | |
Women Helping Women provides weekly individual counseling to women of all
ages, including teenage girls, who aree experiencing a wide range of problems.
This service is provided by licensed clinical social workers. Individual
counseling appointments are available between 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM, Monday -
Thursday and between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Fridays. The fee is $60 per
session, however Women Helping Women offers reduced fees to women who cannot
afford the full fee. Insurance and Medicare are accepted. Click here for more information on individual counseling services. | |
Help-Line | |
Women Helping Women's Help-Line operates from 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM, Monday through Thursday and 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Friday and is staffed by trained volunteers. In addition to providing telephone counseling, information and support, the Help-Line makes referrals to a myriad of other services. The phone number is 732-549-6000. | |
Community Education Workshops | |
Women Helping Women offers monthly Community Education Workshops which are presented by professionals. Each workshop is designed to provide information on a specific topic of interest. There is a $8 fee ($6 for WHW members) for each Community Workshop. Any one interested in finding out about upcoming workshops should call the WHW office at 732-549-6000. | |
Newsletter | |
Women Helping Women publishes a bi-monthly Newsletter about our services, as well as issues related to mental health and women. Volunteers are welcomed to write articles, attend committee meetings, and help with the mailing of the Newsletter. Anyone interested in receiving a complementary newsletter or volunteering subject matter and/or time should contact the Women Helping Women office at 732-549-6760. | |
