Prayer at Dawn
By Lisa Lu  (14th Aug, 1998)

In the stillness of the dawn, I sat deep in thought...
Lord, I want to do so much, For Your glory, for the cross
Take a look at my hands, I wonder how I can
Share to the world that seems, So great and yet so lost

When I think of Your love, I'm struck with reverent awe
You left Your majestic glory, Veiled in meek humility
You knew Your mission here, Was to serve and not be served
Mocked by Your creation, Afflicted by pain

When they shouted "Crucify Him!", I'm not sure which hurt You more
Nails that pierced Your hands, Or Your heart that bled for us
You suffered in my place, Taking all my guilt and shame
That day on Calvary, By Your blood, I was cleansed

How do I begin to show how You care?
How do I start to say what I have to share?
How do I show the rest, how much You have done?
How do I tell them, besides you there are none?
You whispered "Father, forgive them", As You draw Your final breathe
The earth trembled, and darkness fell, Heaven cried for such a loss
But by Your act of grace, Dawns hope so victorious
When You rose and conquered death, Now in You, we have the victory!

Lord, because of Calvary, I am free to choose my life
And I have made my choice, To serve You till the end
Lord, may You increase in me, So that I may decrease
Mould me to be more like You, So that I may shine for You

So I will start by putting all my trust in You,
To these I commit my life...
I give You thanks, I will seekYour grace,
In Your most precious name.. Amen!

that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whosoever believes in Him should not perish,
but have everlasting life."  John 3:16
