In The Shadow Of His Wings
 Be gracious to me, O God, be gracious to me, for my soul takes refuge in You;
and in the shadow of Your wings I will take refuge...  Psalms 57: 1

He who dwells in the shelter
of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
He will cover you with His pinions,
and under His wings
you may seek refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.
 Psalms 91: 1,4

Incline Your ear to me, hear my speech.
Wondrously show Your lovingkindness,
O Savior of those who take refuge
at Your right hand.
Keep me as the apple of the eye;
hide me in the shadow of Your wings.
 Psalms 17: 6-8

In You, O LORD,
I have taken refuge;
Let me never be ashamed;
In Your righteousness deliver me.
Incline Your ear to me, rescue me quickly;
be to me a rock of strength,
a stronghold to save me.
For You are my rock & my fortress;
for Your name's sake
You will lead me & guide me.
Psalms 31: 1-3

How precious is
Your lovingkindness, O God!
And the children of men take refuge
in the shadow of Your wings.
 Psalms 36: 7
The LORD also will be
a stronghold for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble;
And those who know Your name
will put their trust in You,
for You, O LORD,
have not forsaken those
who seek You.
 Psalms 9: 9,10

But let all who take refuge in You be glad,
let them ever sing for joy;
and may You shelter them,
that those who love Your name
may exult in You.
 Psalms 5: 11

You are my hiding place;
You preserve me from trouble;
You surround me with songs of deliverance.
 Psalms 32: 7

But as for me, I shall sing of Your strength;
Yes, I shall joyfully sing
of Your lovingkindness in the morning,
for You have been my stronghold
and a refuge in the day of my distress.
Psalms 59: 16

For You have been
a defense for the helpless,
a defense for the needy in his distress,
a refuge from the storm,
a shade from the heat.
Isaiah 25: 4
You have been my help,
and in the shadow of Your wings
I sing for joy.
My soul clings to You;
Your right hand upholds me.
 Psalms 63: 7, 8

One thing I ask of the LORD,
this is what I seek:
that I may dwell
in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty
of the LORD
and to seek Him in His temple.
For in the day of trouble
He will keep me safe in His dwelling;
He will hide me in the
shelter of His tabernacle
and set me high upon a rock.
 Psalms 27: 4,5

You are my hiding place
and my shield;
I wait for Your word.
Psalms 119: 114

May the LORD reward your work,
and your wages be full
from the LORD,
the God of Israel,
under whose wings
you have come to seek refuge.
 Ruth 2: 12
No greater love...
 An article in National Geographic several years ago provided a penetrating picture of God's wings. After a forest fire in Yellowstone National Park,
forest rangers began their trek up a mountain to assess the inferno's damage. One ranger found a bird literally petrified in ashes,
perched statuesquely on the ground at the base of a tree. Somewhat sickened by the eerie sight, he knocked over the bird with a stick.
When he struck it, three tiny chicks scurried from under their dead mother's wings. The loving mother, keenly aware of impending disaster,
had carried her offspring to the base of the tree and had gathered them under her wings, instinctively knowing that the toxic smoke would rise.
She could have flown to safety but had refused to abandon her babies. When the blaze had arrived and the heat had singed her small body,
the mother had remained steadfast. Because she had been willing to die, those under the cover of her wings would live.
