How to Avoid Getting Caught

'Listen very carefully I will say this only once' Was the saying of the French resistance in the comedy series 'Alo Alo'.
You may wonder why I have started this section with such a reference.
As you will soon find out disappearing is not as simple as you may think, clock and dagger and then some.

Your husband can find you in a hundred and one ways we will attempt to list then all; but no list will ever be complete.

1. Your name. You can change your name free of charge if you are on benefits at any solicitors.
2. Kids names. Schools will often hold your child's records under any name you choose. However if you did not marry your
partner you can change your child's name as above.
3. C.S.A. ,child support agency, make sure to tell them not to pass your details on to your husband
and to hold your records under your old name. Put this in righting and promise to sue if they get it wrong.
4. Old friends. Do not tell your old friends your new name, address, or phone number.
5. Family. Do not tell your family your new name, address, or phone number.
6. T.V., Papers, Radio, Etc. Avoid like the plague.
7. Schools. Tell the school about your situation and advice them about the T.V., Papers, Radio, Etc.
8. Telephone. Going ex-directory is just a start. Thanks to the wonders of digital exchange systems
your husband has a wealth of opportunities to find you. Remember to dial 141 before all numbers.
DO NOT use pay phones or mobiles, if you have to go through the operator. In the event you forget to
dial 141 you can redial the number with the 141 in front and this will obliterate your mistake even if the
phone is not answered, it must ring however. When you have your own phone BT and Nynex can automatically
withhold your number.
9. Letters. Simply do not. If however it becomes essential to send a letter you can use one of two methods
Give it to someone to post out of your area preferably a long way out of your area.
Send it to someone you trust who resides out of your area for them to post on.
10. The bank.
Do not use the joint account from your new area.
Do not accept cheques form your husband or any of his friends.
11. Bills. Be careful what you pay where.
12. Electoral Role. It is an offence not to register but you can use an assumed name.
13. Go see a solicitor you do not need to take action but you should get advice.
