Our Story

Heather and Andy met in January of 1999 at Arkansas State University at Beebe-- Heather was playing one of the female leads in Merry Wives of Windsor for the Arkansas Shakespeare Festival, while Andy was designing and running sound. They saw each other at rehearsals and performances throughout the year, and each thought the other was very nice to look at, but they never really spoke much, as they ran with different crowds of friends.

Holding Hands In late 1999, Andy asked Heather's brother Zak to join a band he was playing with. Zak and Andy got to be friends, but little interested Heather outside the theater. In March of 2000, Heather was hitting a rough patch in her life, and one evening, Zak and his girlfriend Candi took Heather out to a club for some dancing and fun. They also invited Andy to come along and meet some friends there at the club. Heather and Andy flirted a little on the way there, danced together a few times, and finally kissed on the dance floor. They were practically inseperable ever since.

In March of 2001, Heather and Andy had been dating for a year. They had been talking about getting married for months, but were never actually engaged. They went shopping one night, and Heather picked out a ring, but Andy wouldn't let her have it. They drove to a park near Heather's house, and walked around and talked in the spring night air. On a bridge over Gin Creek, Andy asked Heather to marry him. Heather, of course, said yes.

Andy and Heather will be getting married on July 27, 2002 in the same theater where they first met. The wedding will feature a sort of Medieval/Renaissance theme, or as Heather describes it, "Gothic fairy tale." See the attire and ceremony pages for more details!
