The Lord was showing me Israel - how the entire history of Israel has been a continuous cycle:
deliverance---> blessing ---> complacency ---> idolatry ---> bondage --> oppression ---> humility ---> seeking the Lord --->
--->then starting over and over and over again.
If you look at how He has dealt with Israel vs. the way He has dealt with America, the Lord has been WAY more patient, WAY MORE MERCIFUL with us. Some might argue that fact but truly He has yet to swallow up people into the earth in America, He has yet to do the things toward us that He did toward the Israelites (as recorded in His Word). His treatment toward us has been due to ours being a nation founded upon the Bible which INCLUDED the New Testament, which included receiving His Son Jesus as THE CHRIST. (whereas Israel has not yet).
But now the United States merely acknowledges that Jesus was. Especially in a historical way, as a historical figure, but they no longer bow, they no longer run to Him first in all things, they do not permit His Lordship, instead seeing Him as one of many, one way of many 'religions'…but many do not serve Him, obey Him. Saying one is a Christian is pretty popular but very few walk the walk.
This country was founded upon Him and now He is an afterthought, a nuisance, something especially for politicians to fight against/about.
Our country is not serving Him in all areas is false…it is not as it was created to be. This is not new news, in fact this becomes more and more obvious in the the things happening in the world, in families, in schools, in the workforce, in television, in entertainment.
But the Lord brought this up to me last night. And it was serious...
